It will allow continuing helping the community by volunteering at the hospital during academic studies. I was born in the Republic of Congo, where my family fled from Rwanda to escape genocide. Growing up as a refugee in Congo was a daily hardship. My parents struggled to provide the basic necessities for my four siblings and me. The stress of living as refugees began to tear my family apart. My parents divorced in 2005, when I was only five years old. My mother struggled to keep our family together and to provide for all of us. She passionately believed in the power of education. She would try to scrape together enough money to send us to school. There were many times when me and my brothers would help sell jugs of water in the streets of Brazzaville to make enough money for school fees and lunches.
I was born in Guanajuato, Mexico in Oct, 1994 to a young couple named Jovita and Miguel. I was raised in the country side, in a small town in the big state of Guanajuato, Mexico. I am one on the three children in my family to be exact I’m the middle one in my family. I have my brother Rolando he is the older one and I have a little sister Karen. My parents don’t have so much education they barely finished middle school in Mexico. My mother drop out of middle school because at that time she had to work to help my grandparents at home. Because my grandparents had my mother and other older uncles also drop out school to start working to bring some extra money to the house. My father also drop out of middle school to star working in the ranch that my other grandparents had with Cows ,Pigs ,Chickens and the growth of corn, and wheat.
I have desired to be in the medical field since my freshman year of school. Like a classic stereotype I wanted to go into the medical field after watching too much television, in particular Grey’s Anatomy. It was not the drama or love affairs that drew me into the profession but the adrenaline on a surgery coming in. The skills which they possessed to save a person’s life, and the relief of the family when the doctor was able to tell them that their loved one was going to be alright.
