Death Penalty is a punishment for people that have done homicides. Death Penalty is not a natural thing to do,but sadly Death Penalties have increased. Ever since 1973 to 2013 there has been 8,466 executions in the world,in the U.S courts 1,359 were executed. Do you realize that when there are more homicides there are more Death Penalties,in 1967 there has been one execution for each homicide which means that the population is lowering in the world. When governments say that death penalty is abolished it is actually still going,which means executions are happening even more. Governments is why death penalty is happening more and faster too. Supporters mostly support death penalty because members of their family members were killed. The good thing is that death penalty supporters went down,in 1991 there was thirteen percent of death penalty supporters now there is six percent. One person that supports death penalty especially for police officers is a candidate for the 2016 election Donald Trump. Jenna Johnson from the Washington Post wrote "One of the first things I'd do in terms of executive orders, if I win, will be to sign a strong, strong statement that will go out to the country, out to the world, that anybody killing a policeman, a policewoman, a police officer, anybody killing a police officer: Death penalty is going to happen, okay?" What he is saying is that if someone kills a police officer there is going to be death penalty if he is president,even if it is a misunderstanding. They say that death penalty is used to prevent bad behavior but is it really? When there is more homicides than ever. Religions such as christianity do not believe in death penalty. Christians do not believe in it because they don't believe in killing humans as punishment that is why they don’t believe in abortions either.
