The subject of technology in the classroom has been an ongoing debate ever since computers were brought into the field of education. Today, the presence of technology has so far surpassed what educators first intended on using it for. Many educators are leaning towards the idea that technology may be vital for students’ learning and education. Skills in technology has become a necessity in the business workforce today. Most students’ job opportunities in the future will require the use of computers and the internet (Huneycutt). If students are already aware of how to use these forms of technology, then they will be one step ahead. This need has created a push for the United States government to create guidelines throughout schooling to make sure students are prepared to use technology as they grow older. Technology brings a lot of benefits to the classroom, such as enabling students to learn at their own pace, the flexibility and adaptability to differentiated learning, visual lessons can be conducted and can help keep difficult subjects more interesting, and it can keep students interested for longer periods of time. Students can prepare for their future that will be filled with the use of technology.
