After everything had finally been rung up, the lady at the counter told her, her total for that day was going to be, $2,541. The girl buying all of the new clothes caught the reaction of the people around her, and laughed to herself before calmly sliding her credit card across the counter. It’s obvious that college is not cheap, it is very expensive and costly, which results in very many families having troubles affording putting their kids through college. Although, if you use your student loans appropriately to help you pay for your college this will help you not be in too much debt by the time you get out of school. Personal student loans are a financial option you have available if you still have an outstanding balance on your cost of college bottom line. Always apply for as many scholarships you can, so you can see how much money you can get from your scholarships before applying for student loans. Also, another way to appropriately use your student loans is to make sure that you are only using your student loans for college related things. It is not smart to be using your student loans to help you pay for your sweet vacation to Mexico over spring break. I plan to be smart with my student loans and only use them for college because I know that many college students assume that they can use their student loans for whatever they want, because they won’t be hard to pay back once they get out of school and get a great job; but what most don’t realize is that sometimes things done’t always work out perfectly or how you assume they will, and then everyone is already in a lot of debt form their student loans straight out of college. I will need to learn to spend my money on important things that I absolutely need and not just want. Instead of driving my car everywhere I need to go, I will ride my bike when I can, so that I can save money instead of buying gas all the time. I also will try ot stay in the town that my college is in as much as possible, I will avoid going far distances too much because the gas expenses will slowly start to add up. I know that college is the big party place; most kids go to college and party a lot. But I know in order to stay in good financial shape I need to learn to limit those kinds of bad habits because you have to pay for alcohol and tobacco, and that’s a waste of money that I could be using on other important things like books for school and things for my dorm room. I’m also going to eat in the cafeteria at the college every meal and chance that I get, so that this will prevent me spending more money on fast food. Getting a part time job will also be a very smart thing for me to while I’m in school. This way I’m going to school but I’m also earning a little money too, because after college I will have things to pay back and I don’t want to be completely broke right after college. College is financially hard but if you stay smart and use your head you can make it out in good
