In today’s world technology is becoming more and more advance.
We have created laptops, Smartphones, Amazon echo and so much more. We are still creating
advance technology such as the self driving cars. One of the questions we have is are their any
self driving cars on the roads today. We also want to know can humans benefit from these self
Driving cars. Finally, We want to know is it fair for people that is working as drivers to be
Eliminated by Self driving cars. There are many Pros and Cons to these Google cars we are
About to see later in the future.
Self driving cars has been in our minds since the 1920s. According to thedrive.com a man

Such as with any technological revolution, the companies that plan ahead, adjust the fastest and
imagine the biggest will survive and thrive. And companies invested in old technology and
practices will need to evolve or risk dying according to Joseph A. Dallegros.
Humans can truly benefit from these self driving cars. According to Joseph A. Dallegros
excerpted and adapted from “How Google’s Self-Driving Car Will Change Everything” the
Author states how people can sit back, read a book or take a nap while the car drives
Its self. The author also states how these cars can get into less accidents since most accidents
Caused by “distracted driving”. These cars can go drop of you off and park miles away from you
and pick u up later. Nevertheless, who needs to buy a flight from Boston to Cleveland when you
can leave in the evening, sleep much of the way, and arrive in the morning? These self driving
Cars all use the same type of oil so it would make it easier for you to change the oil without
Having to think.
One of the biggest fears is are these self driving cars going to replace transportation
There are approximately 5,400 deaths per year that are linked to distracted driving, and thousands more were injured. (U.S. Department of Labor). Those fatalities are our neighbors, close friends, and even family. How can we prevent this from being so prominent? How can we make the roads a safe place to be again? These questions have many different answers, but many prove to be un-effective. I believe that the best and only way to resolve this issue is to implement tougher laws on cell-phone use in vehicles, and educate our youth to the best of our abilities on the dangers of distracted driving.
The term “distracted driving” may be hard to define, but, simply, it is the act of driving while being engaged in any activity. Stephanie Hanes describes in her article, how texting is a deadly epidemic. The distractions occurring while we drive on the road endangers the lives of drivers and passengers around us. Andrew Lavallee explains in his article “Companies build Services to End Texting and Driving,” how texting is wildly popular these days. David Andreatta points out some activities which drivers are engaged in while on road, in his article “Texting and Driving Can Spell Disaster.”
Thesis: We are already incredibly innovated when it comes to vehicular technology. We already have things like cruise control, which allows tou remain at a constant speed without having to have your foot on the gas the whole time. Car manufacturers have also come up with othe useful tools like, automatic braking, lane control, and rearview cameras. With all these features that are being added to cars it's no wonder that cmpanies like Google, Uber, China's Baidu, and Apple are working to create a self-driving car, but would that be the best idea? Support 1:
They once seemed preposterous, the things of science fiction movies and comic books detailing a utopian society of some sort. Yet here they are, on the streets, their existance no longer a distant fantasy but a very real issue in the world today. Self-driving cars are finally a reality. With this reality, however, comes questions.
Throughout the last couple of years the whole world has been introduced to the new topic of self driving cars. Once being a little kid I have always dreamt of self driving automobiles and now, Car companies are saying that the cars could possibly be released into the public as soon as 2020. This will make dreams become a reality as self driving cars will soon take over. Soon everyone will be riding in they're very own self driving car. The future is here, self driving cars have taken over the topic of discusstion, there are many things good and bad that can come from self driving cars.
If these are introduced into society, no longer will people suffer from the main cause of traffic deaths, human error. No longer will everyday workers, parents, and students have to worry about high transportation costs that they suffer from today. No longer will people have to worry about the struggle of affording the high gas prices associated with the high fuel consumption of everyday drivers. People should vocalize the benefits of self-driving cars and continue to influence car manufacturing companies to produce efficient self-driving cars. If this happens, oncoming generations will live prosperous lives where they can worry less about what's happening around them, and more of what's happening right in front o them.
Companies like Google, Tesla and Nissan, among others, have announced over the past few years that their companies are trying to develop self-driving or autonomous cars [Ref. 1 and 2]. Self-driving cars can provide many benefits to the average consumer. Studies have shown that because computers can react and process information many times faster than a human being, crashes on streets and roads can be decreased with quick and consistent evasion maneuvers by the autonomous car. They can also help maximize fuel economy by calculating the most direct and fastest routes. When the driving of an autonomous car demonstrates that the computer can safely and reliably transport the passengers to their destination, this frees up the passengers to do other things that they would not normally be able to do if they were driving the car manually. For this reason, self-driving cars can help maximize productivity of their passengers.
It is only recently, in the 2000s, that self-driving vehicles have become a reality. We have already seen an increase in remote controlled delivery vehicles, drones, and trucks. Companies such as Google and Tesla are now working vigorously in designing a fully/semi-automated car for every
Today’s cars can already come with several self driving features. Automated features in cars are becoming quite normal, some of which features include automatic opening trunk with sensoring technology, lane centering, self parking, and blind spot detection. The technology enables a car to be safer because the car can “see” it’s surroundings (Shelley, 2013). These features have been installed in cars for about a decade now and the costs of the features are decreasing every year. Self driving cars are circulating all over the world, Tesla for example has been on the rise in 2017 because they have become more affordable.
Self-driving cars are the wave of the future. There is much debate regarding the impact a self-driving car will have on our society and economy. Some experts believe fully autonomous vehicles will be on the road in the next 5-10 years (Anderson). This means a vehicle will be able to drive on the road without a driver or any passengers. Like any groundbreaking technology, there is a fear of the unforeseen problems. Therefore, there will need to be extensive testing before anyone can feel safe with a vehicle of this style on the road. It will also take time for this type of technology to become financially accessible to the masses, but again alike any technology with time it should be possible. Once the safety concern has been fully addressed
Instead of living in the city where people’s jobs, they can live farther away from their work without worrying about their commute to work. Although many people would like that, there is a long way to go to be able to have self driving cars drive that commute.
Nowadays as the technologies of car are developing faster and faster, this scenario involving of autonomous cars may not be as far as we think. On June 29, 2011 Nevada was a first state of the United States to pass a law permitting the autonomous car to drive in Nevada, and the first license of an autonomous car was issued by the Nevada Department of Moto Vehicles in May 2012. So far the Google Driverless Cars, the most popular autonomous cars in the United States, have been tested by Google Inc. over 300,000 miles on the city streets, mountain roads, and busy highways in many different weather conditions. To the topic of autonomous cars, most of us believe that autonomous cars will bring us huge benefits. However, there is a question of whether it is a good idea to promote autonomous cars in our daily lives. Whereas some argue that promoting autonomous car might cause problems such as the loss of millions ...
vehicles? Automated vehicles are most likely what the future has in store. I believe it is merely a matter of when the technology is at a satisfactory level for it to be safe enough for everyone to use. I have always been very interested in “the technology of the future” as well as anything mechanical. Currently I am pursuing a degree in diesel engineering. I see my educational path as pursuing a technology that will be even more relevant in the future than it is today. Self-driven cars should coincide with diesel engineered vehicles as long as they are a safe, reliable, and affordable
But it may take some time till we get there, there is still some things to be figured out before they are fully here. Two terms for the switch to autonomous have become standard in the auto industry. There's the path of evolutionary to autonomous vehicles where they eventually get better and better and more high tech as time goes on. So coming soon, today's cars will have more self driving features, and there will be many more autonomous options coming bit by bit. For example,Tesla's autopilot feature, is a form of evolution in vehicles. Autonomous cars are a whole new era in the car and vehicle industry. And even better, with more technology comes the "revolutionary" path. That's where cars will be completely self driven, not only autopilot like the Tesla, but completely self driving, like some of the ones Google is working on. It will start as test vehicle, and become more and more mainstream like autopilot vehicles as they will be able to drive in more places. There's a big debate over which path is safer, and which one is the better path, but soon both of the paths will eventually converge.(Tesla
Technology is evolving faster than ever these days, however there is one technology that could revolutionize the transportation industry. This technology is called autonomous cars, also known as self-driving cars. Autonomous cars can be defined as a vehicle that is capable of sensing its environment, and navigating without human input. Using different techniques such as GPS and radar, autonomous cars can detect surroundings, thus removing the human element in driving. This would have a positive effect in more ways than we could ever imagine. Research suggests that self-driving cars will become more abundant in the future because they will be more cost-effective, enhance safety, and decrease traffic congestion.
