With the many school shootings that have happened, students can have a hard time focusing in class and worrying about their school being next. Students that have gone through a school shooting have been traumatized by what happened and too fragile to speak about not only losing students, teachers, and staff, but also the sense of school not feeling safe anymore. Recovery after just going through a school shooting won’t be easy on the students involved, their test scores lower years after attending the same high school.

A school shooting can happen anytime which is why school’s with low security may never be prepared. Students trying to learn don’t deserve to feel scared everyday of their life at school.
People may never understand the nerves that races through your body knowing there is an intruder in the school, that feeling of wondering if this will be the very last day, hearing gunshots, and realizing the school you once remembered to be, will never be the same again. Not only students, teachers, staff, etc worried about their safety but, families at home can also worry about what can happen to their kids, husband, wife, etc. Fear is the last emotion anyone would expect to feel at school, which is why no one at school deserves to feel that way.
An administrator coming onto the intercom saying the school is going to be on lockdown or to evacuate is devastating and frightening. The students trying to learn and get their education doesn’t deserve to suddenly get interrupted by the fear that has become the whole school. The sense of seeing school shooting all over the news then it happens to one’s school is really terrifying because, it’s something you never saw coming. No one deserves to ever feel that grief from school shooting, the feeling of agony knowing you lost your son or daughter from an intruder coming to
