One thing to look at is the amount of weight you need to handle. You want to purchase one that can handle the right amount of weight. Usually a pallet jack can carry as low as two thousand pounds. It can go as high as ten thousand pounds. That will make a difference in the price.
Another thing to ask yourself is how low must my pallet truck go? While on average pallet jacks can go as low as two feet and seven eighths inches and as high as seven feet and three fourths inches, you'll find that some of them can go even lower, and some even higher. It all depends on what your needs are at the moment.
A third thing to take into consideration is where you will be using your pallet jack. If the surface is rugged you may need one that is all terrain. If it's a slick surface, maybe a regular ergonomic pallet jack will do. If your budget can handle it, and you have the space for it, an electric pallet jack may work for you, even though they usually don't carry loads heavier than five thousand
Sidewalks are different shapes and sizes, people tend to make their own decisions to which way they would want to go.
