'Cause sometimes you just feel tired,
Feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up.
But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength
And just pull that shit out of you and get that motivation to not give up
And not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse.

Inside the album jacket, Serch sums up hip-hop in ‘89: “There was a time when nothing was more important than the New York Rap Scene.” It’s dilluted, but not divided.” To hip-hop afficionados, Serch’s quote sounds like the equivalent to a Vietnam soldier’s letter home. Obviously, the group saw the possibility of the hip-hop culture being tainted.
Even though life can be hard at points, the clip from the movie Facing the Giants by Alex Kendrick shows how if you don’t give up you will eventually get around it. Brock, a football player on the team, had to do the Death Crawl to the 50 yard line because he doubted his team. The Death Crawl is when someone lays on your back and you have to crawl. To begin with, The coach told Brock to put on a blindfold so he could avoid distractions. “ I want you to do the Death Crawl blindfolded, Brock.” Brock couldn’t pay attention to the yard line he was at which helped him overcome the obstacle. Furthermore, The coach told Brock to keep going and not give up. The coach says “C’mon Brock, don’t quit
I’ve learned to never give up, even though everything in me tells me to throw in the towel. I am
People have said that to succeed, you must first fail. I didn’t really understand this until failure became so present in my life. In the beginning, my team was losing game after game, and getting knocked out of tournament after tournament. It was hard to keep playing on a team that was struggling so much. “Hang in there guys. We’re

“The struggle you're in today is developing the strength for tomorrow”- Unknown. This quote means the struggles an individual has had one day, should not be causing any trouble the next day because the bad energy from yesterday is going to develope into the good energy. In Total Chaos, Jeff Chang references Harry Allen, a hip hop critic and self-proclaimed hip hop activist. Harry Allen compares the hip hop movement to the Big Bang and poses this complex question: “whether hip-hop is, in fact a closed universe-bound to recollapse, ultimately, in a fireball akin to its birth-or an open one, destined to expand forever, until it is cold, dark, and dead” (9). An often heard phase, “hip hop is dead,” refers to the high occurrence of gangster rap in mainstream hip hop. Today’s hip hop regularly features black youths posturing as rich thugs and indulging in expensive merchandise. The “hip hop is dead” perspective is based on the belief that hip hop was destined to become the model of youth resistance and social change. However, its political ambitions have yet to emerge, thus giving rise to hip hops’ criticisms. This essay will examine the past and present of hip hop in o...
I believe in the power of not quiting because not quitting shows alot about a person. I’ve been told since I can remember from my father not to start something that you are not gonna finish. “Quitters never make it anywhere” is what I get told at least five times in a week. It’s just something that’s important to me and always will be on and off the football field. Your mind will tell you that you can’t go on and tell you to quit, but there is always something else to accomplish, always something you can finesse and make greater. If you ever quit something when things get tough or you just don’t feel like doing something, then in the back of your head you will have that reoccuring thought , “Well it ain’t that big of a deal, I’ll just leave it, it’s fine won’t hurt anything.” Really that’s when it all starts and everything becomes “okay” when really that’s when you need to make the extra effort, run the extra sprint.
Skateboarders have been the butt in many of society’s jokes. Society has put skateboarders into the category of being the most agitators there are about in life. Most people look down on skateboarders because they are different. As a skateboarder I go through the peer-pressure of society everyday. We are dealt with the burden of being society's losers.
No one wants to fail in life. Each and every person only wants the best for themselves. Yet at times there is not a change an individual could have been done to change the outcome of their failure. The feeling of failure is an emotion everyone feels. Occasionally after a failure people become intimidated to get up and try again. A British political Winston Churchill believes “success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” That quote was right after he was voted out of office in the summer of 1945 after World War II. His strength to keep going even after that big of a letdown is an example of never giving up. The ability to get up is the hardest part to achieve, what discourages people
This song doesn’t only deal with sensory description; it also deals with figurative language. One example of figurative language is used by Ludacris when he says "I don't know, but you gotta stop trippin." The word trippin doesn’t actually mean tripping and falling, it means you have to stop worrying. He uses this word to relate to the different kind of people who listen to this song. Ludacris also uses figurative language when he says "Used to play back then, now you all grown-up like Rudy Huxtable." This figurative language is a simile, because he is comparing growing up to Rudy Huxtable, using the word like. Finally the last piece of figurative language is used by Usher when he says "Got me fiendin' like Jodeci." This also is a form of a simile, because he is stating that he has and urge like Jodeci by using the word like. That is part of the definition of a simile. Songs do not only deal with sensory description, but also figurative language.
Reading this book I got some tips and “exercises” that helped me when i was feeling down and i wanted to give up. I waited ten minutes every time i was tempted by something. i did not let any distraction lead me to failure. When it was time to make decision everything i did was to focus and if i could not come up with something good, i stopped and waited and started thinking all over again about everything that has to do with the decision that i have to take. “ do I really need it?” “is It going to make me feel better or worst later?”. During my weakest time I was looking forward to the rewards i am going to get at the end. Those tips from Mcgonigal where helpful and pushed me when i
This was the lesson I learnt from my father, an unceasing learner and a person who would never give up no matter how many and how difficult the obstacles may be. Having understood from him that success is a moving target, the years of my life with my family have inculcated in me a desire to achieve perfection.
Ask yourself, what can I do differently tomorrow that will bring me closer to achieving my goals? It is important to realise that everyone falls of the wagon at some point, but the key to successfully achieving your goals is not to see these moments as a permanent failure but a temporary glitch or moment. When you ask yourself this question, you shift your mind-set from failure to how can I do things differently.
