In the past few years, there has been a multitude of mass shootings in the United States, mainly at public schools. Our country is rushing to find ways to protect the students at these schools and numerous politicians and school administrators think that arming teachers and staff is the solution. But the teachers at these schools have mixed thoughts on how they feel about teaching in an environment with concealed firearms. Many feel that having concealed guns in the schools comes with too many possible dangers and that it isn’t worth the risk. Others are concerned about how the students will feel about this. I am not a police officer or in the army for a reason, I teach kids -- I don’t go to war every day.
