It lies about how healthy it is. I have many reasons that give me this thought. One reason is chocolate milk can cause many illnesses that will cause a child to miss school. Another reason is chocolate milk causes children to eat 57 tons of sugar per week. Finally, chocolate milk causes kids to drink dirt and germs. Research shows chocolate milk is the cause of many different illnesses. One deathly illness caused by chocolate milk is cancer! Also, chocolate milk causes type 2 diabetes. This happens gradually. In Nutrition in Disguise it stated there are thirty grams of sugar in one carton of chocolate milk. This will cause children to not pay attention in class because they are on a sugar rush. This makes me think that children might not fulfill their potential because they aren’t paying attention in class. Kids who should be off inventing cures, making stuff to save life might not complete this because they are on a sugar rush. Even mother of 5, Tara Subeck stated “ Chocolate milk has too much sugar”. Another example that supports my reasoning is, through my research a met a brilliant young man named Cooper Subeck, he provided me with this information, “Chocolate milk cartons are recycled; although this is environmentally friendly, it’s terrible! They make the cartons out of wallpaper and other dirty items. This make the consumers drink the dirt and germs from those items.” He found this out from a carton of chocolate milk at Middlefork Elementary School Lunchroom. Chocolate milk and a cafeteria don't go together like frosting on a cupcake, so don’t put them together. Schools should not serve chocolate milk to students. It’s easy to think that chocolate milk is just as healthy as white milk, but when you look at the facts, it is very clear that we should not serve chocolate milk in schools. It has been found that our bodies don’t need chocolate milk, there is too much sugar, and chocolate milk can cause illnesses and diseases. Chocolate milk should not be served in schools now or ever again.

The idea of pasteurizing milk bagan in the 1920s, and later became an aspect of everyday life in the 1950s. Milk that has undergone this process is normally prefered since it is sterilized, therefore lowering the chance of human illness. However, it’s not the 1950s anymore, and the idea of pasteurizing milk has lost its luster for the people that now prefer raw milk. Unlike the milk that most Americans consume, raw milk has not been pasteurized, or quickly heated to a high temperature to kill harmful bacteria. Aspartame is a man-made chemical that is made up of aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and methanol. With, aspartic acid making up 40%, phenylalanine making up 50%, and methanol making up 10%. Taking in consideration the phenylalanine in diet soda,” Excessive levels of phenylalanine in the brain can cause the levels of serotonin in the brain to decrease, leading to emotional disorders such as depression” (Aspartame…). With the methanol, that is found in aspartame, it “…breaks down into formaldehyde in the body. Formaldehyde is a deadly neurotoxin… With a recommended limit of consumption of 7.8 mg/day. A one-liter (approx. 1 quart) aspartame-sweetened beverage contains about 56 mg of methanol. Heavy users of aspartame-containing products consume as much as 250 mg of methanol daily or 32 times the EPA limit” (Aspartame…). The effects of methanol are caused by the formaldehyde. “Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen, causes retinal damage, interferes with DNA replication and causes birth defects” (Aspartame…).
