No Dresscode For College
College is the place where students begin to be independent. Most of the time, the students are expected to be able to think clearly and to know what is deemed as good or bad. This also applies to clothes-making decisions. The students are capable to wear whatever they want to wear as long as it is appropriate enough for studying. In my opinion, there are three main reasons why college should not make dress codes as a necessity for all college students.
First, it hinders students from being able to express their individuality. In my opinion, wearing the same thing or the same uniform every single day can limit your creativity and self-expression. College is supposed to be the place where you explore what you like and do not like, so dress codes will limit you from doing that. Expensiveness is the state of being high-priced, and this could be promoted by the dress codes. Privileged students can still wear branded items if they do not break the dress code rules. For example, when the dress code tells you to wear black shoes, the privileged students can still wear black shoes from branded stores, and this could be harmful because it will create disparity among students. Moreover, some underprivileged students cannot buy the same uniform twice for a week because it is costly. As we all know, uniforms tend to be expensive, and for students who are barely able to pay their tuition fee, this will create more problems for them. They cannot but the same uniform twice, and sometimes it shows because if you wear the same uniform more than two or three days, it will be dirty.
