There are approximately 112 million people in the world that got their driver’s license so far this year. Getting a driver’s license can be good and bad in many different occasions. Being a licensed driver effects people in a good way because it gives them freedom to do what they want to do. It can also be bad because their family can take advantage of them and make them run their errands. Having a driver’s license gives people freedom to do what they want. Getting a driver’s license gives people the opportunity to spend time with friends or be with their families longer. It also can give them the freedom to get out of the house when they get bored or get angry with their parents or just need to get away for a while. It can be stressful because family members can make them run their errands when they don’t want to. They take advantage of their children that have their license because it will make their lives easier and can finish things faster. Having to run their parents errands can be extremely stressful because they don’t want to let them down or mess anything up. The errands that the children’s parents make them run can either be quick and fast or slow or take forever, and if it takes forever, than the child is never going to run anymore errands for their parents again. Parents will depend on their children to get their license so that they can help do things around town like pick up their brothers/sisters; go to the grocery store; take mail to the post office; and taking and picking up their siblings from practices. Doing all of these things are stressful and causes to young people to not want to get their driver’s licenses so that they don’t have to do those things for their parents because it takes time out of their day to do these
Congratulations on turning fifteen and a half years old! I bet you are excited as I was back when I was fifteen and a half. With earning my Driver’s License, I feel like a more independent (and less dependent) person than if I did not. Knowing this, I knew I had to endure a long tedious process to actually get my license. This is the land of opportunity and no matter how much this country denies it, it needs the labor of illegal immigrants to prosper. In order to create a safer America, illegal immigrants should be allowed to obtain a driver’s license because it forces them to be insured, it stops them from being deported when pulled over, and it assists them in contributing to the prosperity of the United States. Illegal immigrants will be obligated to obtain insurance if they acquire a driver’s license. When a motorist tests at a DMV, they are required to prove that they have insurance, so if undocumented immigrants want to legally drive, they are forced to be insured. A majority of the illegal immigrants that drive today do not have insurance, which means that driver protection on the road is not always guaranteed.
Secondly I noticed when I was in my car on my way to work was the license and the insurance that the government requires in order to operate a motor vehicle. The government requires that all drivers pass a drivers test to demonstrate that they are capable of operating a motor vehicle without harming themselves or others. When they pass this test they are giving a drivers license. If the person violates the laws of the road too many times or seriously this license can be suspended or revoked. The government also requires that the driver have insurance. Insurance is required so that in the event of an accident the parties involved in the accident can afford medical care.
In the 1990's teens would get full licensing and all privileges with little or no testing at all. It wasn’t until 1995 when around twenty states required a learning permit, but the system was still very weak, as teens only had to keep their permit for two to three weeks. But somehow, teen drivers are not as dangerous as they are today. Experts say it is mostly because of deadly distractions in and out of the vehicle (Boulard 38). Many young people are already out seeking jobs and rely on their parents for transportation which can be difficult due to work schedules conflicting or sports schedules too. Drivers who wait longer to get their license at the age of 21 are less experienced and independent than those at 16 or even 18 years of age. While driving is dangerous, it also can is good for those who need it. It is not the car that causes the accidents it is the person who is behind the wheel choosing to be safe.
A drivers license what every sixteen year old dreams of getting. You can start dating and driving around with friends, the reason they call it sweet sixteen but with every privilege it seems that a limitation comes with it. In the following paragraphs I am going to argue on the limitations of driving not only for the youth but as well as adults too. Teens of all ages, from 15 to 19, experience different trials and milestones in life. Some teens will graduate before the age of 18, but if the driving age were to be raised, many of those students would have to wait a year or two to legally drive off to college. In even younger teen’s lives, many have had to come face to face with acquiring jobs to help their families out with finances. Some teenagers at the age of 15 can, today, gain a special license that allows them to drive from home, to school, and to work only. If the legal driving age were to be altered, this special type of license would surely be abolished, permitting anyone from acquiring a job before the age of 16.
In 2011, 9,878 people are killed from a drunk driving crash. Also, in 2011 it was recorded that on average every 53 seconds someone is in an accident where one of the drivers was drinking. When a license is suspended then the driver can have no access to driving. With them off the road it keeps one less person from being injured in a crash. In Georgia, where on first offense their license is suspended for a year, had 297 fatalities caused by a drunk driving accident just last year.

Driving a car and obtaining a driver’s license does, perhaps, seem to provide people with a great sense of independence and freedom. Teenagers need to feel independent in order to learn to become successful on their own as well as realize how to handle life situations on their own, and having a license seems the perfect start and most effective way to do so. When teenagers feel this independence, they tend to act more mature, knowing the responsibilities they must now carry on their own (More4Kids). Teenagers often look forward to the freedom that driving offers as well. Teenagers are able to take drives to escape from life’s stresses, and leave any troubles at home behind without rebelling against their loved ones.
