My first wish is to learn and enrich my skills. Co-op allows high school students to apply academic study to the workplace. By alternating study terms with work terms, I can test conceptual knowledge whilst applying pre-existing skills such as being able to communicate. Likewise, I can acknowledge my skills, and discover and amend my strengths and weaknesses. I hope to develop my skills through hands-on experience. Skills such as being able to deal with conflict, make decisions, and work with a team. I believe that acquiring such skills is not only crucial in the workplace, but also in the real world. Hence, I intend to achieve this goal by interacting (cooperating, showing curiosity, asking questions) with the staff at Windsor Regional Hospital in hopes to learn and follow them by example. …show more content…

Co-op exposes students to a real workplace, thus giving them an idea of a real-life work experience. By being exposed to real-life situations and problems in the workplace, I can learn how to react to them. It provides me with the opportunity to explore and plan my career… In other words, it can help me decide whether I’m on the right career path, possibly opening up other options I’ve never considered otherwise. Moreover, I can test drive the different possibilities before investing money. For this reason, I aim to achieve this goal by involving myself inasmuch tasks as I can handle.
