I am honored to be considered for membership by the National Honor Society. My current high school GPA for the past three years is 4.2. I have been in multiple honors classes and am on target to receive my honors diploma. In addition, I fill my schedule with College Credit Plus and consistently hold a 4.0 GPA. I feel that I exemplify the characteristics to be considered for this great honor. Respect is something given without expecting anything in return. Growing up, I learned that even the little things can change someone's day. Offering your chair to an elderly person, a kind deed to someone in need, or a word of encouragement to someone having a bad day. My 90 year old great grandma has lived in my home for 11 years. Through the recent years, I call her every day on my way home asking if she is in need of anything. I have been blessed with many leaders and pillars in my life that challenge me daily. My parents, teachers, community leaders, and even figures in my church all know they can openly challenge my ideas. I try not to take constructive criticism as a put down; but rather as a compliment. Almost every individual is capable of knowing right from wrong but the ones that lean toward good excel. It is the desire for good that can change a life for the better.
