It was not until the year 2002 that the NBA was able to find someone to match Jordan’s dazzling acrobatic style of play. His name is Lebron James. Lebron, who plays shooting guard and small forward, stands at an athletic six-eight. James, however, never played in the NCAA. He was drafted straight out of high school in the 2003-04 season, by the Cleveland Cavaliers. James is already on the road to success by achieving co-rookie of the year, and he appeared in the Olympics. James is expected to be a champion, but he may not have what it takes to become a real champion such as Michael Jordan was. Before Jordan or James can be categorized as a champion, they have to be able to handle pressure, fame, and maintain a positive relationship with their team. When comparing Jordan and James’ clutch capabilities, or their ab...

I was thirteen years old bouncing a basketball in my front driveway. Playing for pure joy, never thinking twice that this sport could take me any further. Little did I know that what I thought to be the simple sport of basketball would soon change my life forever.
I have been on the court since I was seven years old. Basketball has been a driving force in my life. The spirit of the game, comradery of a team, and the perfection of a swish is a part of who I am. My first community based coach ‘s name was John Cochrane in a small township, Warminster, a suburb of Philadelphia . Through the fifteen or so games we played in rec, John modeled great technique, that everyone should play equally, and that team is stronger that its parts. I learned that skill development took a lot of work and that sometimes you just had to laugh! As my basketball career became more serious and a more competitive journey, I had the immense pleasure of meeting and working with a personal trainer name, Chris Harper. He partnered
With hard work and dedication, you can achieve great things. One of the greatest accomplishments in my life was winning state last year. I have never once wanted to win this game for my teammates more than this one. This game I played for my brothers on the field with me.
I was walking down the road, and had a dejected look on my face. I was very unhappy because we had just lost a huge game against the best team (besides us) in the league. I had my hood pulled up over my head and some expensive sunglasses on. It probably is weird to see a professional basketball player, just walking along on the side of the road. I did this after every home loss even though I had only lost one game in the pros I did this in college too. Even though I had a great game, and we had still lost which made me very unhappy.
Mental health has been an important issue to me for the majority of my life. My mother owns and operates a vocational center for individuals with mental disabilities, and through her program I was able to discover my passion for helping those who can not always help themselves. While I am spending time with the individuals at the program, I become inspired by the kindness, compassion, and strength that radiates from within them. Living with a mental illness can be very challenging and comes with many difficulties, and to alleviate some of their struggle by simply listening and caring brings me immense joy.
