Automotive Designer For my research essay, I have chosen to research a career in automotive design. Automotive designers are a type of industrial designer and develop concepts for cars and car parts. They must take aesthetics, engineering and production costs into account when creating their designs. I am interested in this career because I have a love for both cars and art, and this job combines them. Automotive designers need at least a bachelor's degree in industrial design, architecture, or engineering. They should be able to make detailed and realistic sketches, as well as use computer rendering programs. Automotive designers need to be creative and be able to think outside of the box in order to create unique and new designs. They also need to have good communication skills and work well with other people because usually an entire design team will work together to design a car. …show more content…

Depending on who they work for, automotive designers can receive a variety of benefits. There aren't many jobs automotive designers can advance on to because most of them are careers in management and executive positions. While it is possible for an automotive designer to be promoted to a position such as head of automotive design within a company, job openings are rare. I like this career due to my interest in both cars and art. I have always loved drawing and my favorite thing to draw is cars. I'm also incredibly passionate about cars so this job would combine my two interests.With this job I could surround myself with cars and vent my creativity all at once. I believe that with this job I would be excited to get up in the morning and go to work, which is very contrary to most people's
