It all began my freshman year of high school when I was told about elective classes that would help me decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. I always had a passion for doing hair, make-up, and nails so that was easy for me to choose an elective. My freshman and sophomore year I decided I would take cosmetology classes. I would spend two hours each day of school in the cosmetology lab, which was always cold and smelled like hairspray, burnt hair from the straighteners or a strong acetone smell that someone gets a whiff of at a nail salon. We learned so much material and I had a good time practicing my skills on manikins and other classmates. One thing I didn’t enjoy was the gossip and drama, but of course one would expect that from a class

Choosing a career is one of the many big decisions we must encounter in life. Two careers that interest me are an Orthodontist and a Lawyer. Though both careers are interesting, pursuing a career as an Orthodontist would be better because I can help people achieve a perfect, celebrity smile, gain confidence, and smile uncontrollably.
From an educational website “Board of Barbering and cosmetology” the more important skills are (Active listening, speaking, monitoring, social perceptiveness, service orientation, critical thinking) for the customers to have that mentality of "that’s the barber he/she is the one" having skills that do this create loyal clientele. Skills that conclude the art of barber (Coordination, operation analysis, judgment and decision making, active learning, reading comprehension, time management, customer and personal service, English language and many other languages, sales and marketing) have hand to eye and cashier principals. ...ons for myself, I’m only good at doing that for other people. Good jobs for me would be a philosopher, writer or theologian. I really don’t want to be any of those things. All these career choices are very far away from both a Flight Attendant and a Developmental Therapist. I don’t really think that I could ever be happy as a flight attendant, it feels too limited. However, I do think that there are other career options that involve traveling that I would enjoy more. I would like the sense of freedom that traveling freely around the world would give me. However, I know that I need stability and comfort in my life, coming back to a place I call home is important to me. Hopefully, I will find a job or position that fully uses my talents and allows me to experience the world but also gives me the chance to think and implement things that can help improve the world.
