The most significant strengths that I bring to the practicum based on the checklist provided in the textbook includes strengths from most of the competence areas including attitudes, motivation to learn, general work skills, social work skills, and knowledge. Most importantly I am committed to achieving social justice for each individual, family, group, and community that I serve. I am also epithetic, caring, and concerned for clients while being non-judgmental and respecting diversity among clients and communities. Then I will talk with my field supervisor to determine what strengths she has observed me using. This will likely allow me to identify additional strengths that I have not yet identified. At times I struggle to identify my own strengths through self-reflection because I commonly believe I can make improvements and focus on those areas rather than on the strengths that I have acquired. In addition, I can take advantage of opportunities that arise in the practicum that will allow me to implement the strengths that I have already developed such as communication skills, organizational skills, and listening skills.
d. What are the most significant limitations that you bring to the practicum experience?
`The most significant limitations that I bring to the practicum experience includes experience applying theory to practice. Although I have an understanding of applying theory to practice I do not have a lot of experience actually applying theory to practice. In addition, I also do not have an extensive knowledge of the assessment tools, methods, and techniques that are used by the agency at this point. I have limited experience administering assessments although several assessment tools were discussed throughout my
