The cabin in the woods.
Once upon a time, in a cabin far away, it was Halloween night October 31st 1973. A group of friends decided to go to a cabin in the woods to celebrate their favorite holiday together. Busses packed full of people were going to the party that me and Skyler had planned. We invited almost the whole school. Finally after hours of searching for our final destination we arrived. Skyler and I were the first to be at that raggedy torn down cabin. We brought the lights and the beers and the snacks , we spent hours and hours of decorating and setting up finally Andy showed up to help with all the heavy work.
Three hours later… the party finally started, the party was so hyped there was glow sticks and people were throwing

We went to go get into my car and it was missing “oh no!” we thought to ourselves what will we do?
We traveled for miles trying to find Skyler’s car all through the bumpy lands the twisted spider webs. We stomped our way through the jungle gym. After hours of walking and figuring out our plan we made it to the road. We saw an old warehouse and we walked up to it to see if anybody was there. An old man about 50 or 60 years of age was sitting there he asked politely
“Do you folks need anything?”
Before we could answer he yelled
“WAIT! You kids through that party were that young man got shot!”
We all said
“Whoa you know who got shot sure?
The man said
“No it’s a urban legend you see people throw party’s at that cabin every year, the cabin is said to have ghost and one man dies there every year to be a part of them.
The man then quickly said
“Get out of this town or the ghost will get to you to.”
The man let us stay the night at the lobby. The next day he gave us a ride to the city and warned us to never come back again. There was no sight of the shooter or the person that died that night. Our lives went on while we still curiously dreamt about that
One day in Tennessee, I came to the rescue of my brother. We finally got to our cabin after eight hours of driving plus stops. Tennessee is really nice because there are mountains and lots of green trees. The waterfalls are beautiful, too. My family’s cabin had two rooms and three beds. It also had a hot tub on the deck and a great view. On the third day my dad, brother, dog, and I went on a walk on a path by rocky walls. On the way we saw a wooden wagon that was old. My brother and I got in it for my dad to take a picture. Suddenly, my brother got stung by a bee! It hurt his arm, which felt like a needle poking you in the arm. I walked him back up to our cabin where he could get the first aid-kit. I handed him medicine and a band aid, then
I woke up in the middle of the night with my head throbbing in a place I did not know how I got here then I remembered the last thing I did remember is a bear right next to my and then sirens wailing and people saying
I placed my bags by the door and texted Riley saying I was heading over. Then I went to my room grabbed my wallet and walked out the door with my bag. It was cold and rainy but the rest of the week was supposed to be hot.
It is interesting how two completely unrelated things find a way of complementing each other, like how the rendition of “Popular” from Wicked I heard as I entered my high school’s auditorium could harmonize so perfectly with the silent screaming in my head. I was a freshman, and I had hopes of auditioning for the fall production of Into The Woods. Upon seeing the blinding spotlights shine on the girl who boldly stood in center stage, entirely alone, in front of a few dozen actors with blank stares, I found myself in a panic. “You do not belong here,” my superego whispered as the girl effortlessly sang another verse. I ordinarily found solace in public speaking and performance, but this audition felt different.“YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE,” my mind screeched as I realized that every auditioner in the room was just as talented as the first. I was out of my league. I crumpled my sheet music as I crumpled under the pressure and quickly left the room.
It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
When I am reading books I always seem to put myself in the characters’ shoes. By doing that I allow myself to learn from the characters’ trials and tribulations they are facing. I learn from their experiences because I experience the challenge with them as I read. As crazy as I might sound, it is a habit of mine. I have learned and continue to learn from the books I read. Books have taught me about human character, keeping an open mind, and always following my dreams.
Spending time in the county turned this city kid into the caring, interested, and technical person I am today. When I turned thirteen I started spending my summers in the New Madrid & Dunklin County Missouri. At either my step-mothers farm, or my Grandfathers farm. If you imagine a city slicker, surrounded by dirt, produce and this room with an old computer. I thought I would never make it!
?Check the garage,? was all my mom replied. As soon as she said this, I knew that my beloved dog was gone.
Day 36, Mother tried to stop me from eating again, but this time my dad and I had her tricked. As soon as mom went to sleep, dad came down and brought me three pieces of bread. As I eat the bread, I felt successful knowing that I beat mother, knowing that I have won one of the little games she liked to play. I’m sitting in the basement wondering what will happen if mother finds out what dad did and especially what will happen to me. Day 36, 5:30pm, I am woken by a loud bang and I hear dad and mother yelling, “WHY WOULD YOU GIVE THAT THING FOOD!” I hear my mom yell from the bedroom. She called me a thing not her son but a thing that word shot me in the chest hard. I AM NO LONGER HER SON! I try to go to sleep but I feel the shaking of the stairs
From that point I walked home and had to explain why the car wasn't home in the morning. I was hoping someone would find the car and find a way to get it out so I could at least have a broken car that needed repair. Unfortunately, there aren't many people who scavenge the bottom of the lake in search of a car. So, it’s still down there.
It was the weekend and my dad was gone for the weekend. It was October and very close to Halloween. Me, my friend Tre, and his auntie Stephanie went out to get pizza at papa johns.
Its the June long weekend in 1995 my family has decided to go to Langley Woodlands for a family get away. We packed the car up mum and dad in the front, and me, Lillie and good old barney in the back seat watching movies before we decided to rip out each others brains before we even got there. Not long after we fell asleep in the bad until we arrived to the place. Once we arrived we woke up to the scenery of tress, paths and a big house. Lillee and i rushed inside as soon as the front door opened to this big amazing house, it was like a dream. We rushed up the stairs even barney followed he was just excited as us to check our rooms out, once we stepped inside our rooms i knew it wasn't just a Woodhouse it was a magical Woodhouse there was
It was in July, and we wanted to go camping. I asked my dad if we could go up to our family's cabin in Elk Springs, which is near Montrose. He agreed, so Chase, Tyler and I, all sixteen years old, packed our stuff and were ready to go camping. With excitement, we jumped into Chase's truck, and took off to the woods.
Have you ever been lost? I am not talking about being lost while driving or lost in the
I’m cold, I’m hungry, I’m bloodied, my skin is burnt, I’m near death and no one is who knows where I am. Even if they did they would not come and get me. But I must not, given I must fight to stay alive and when the opportunity is right, escape. I’m Patrick Robinson, proud member of Seal Team 2, the most elite SEAL team. My team and I were on a mission to take surveillance footage of meeting between terrorist leader Sadan San and the Russian President, and if the opportunity presented itself, kill the terrorist leader and take the President alive for questioning. Things went wrong terribly wrong my Team’s cover was blown when we were caught with weapons attempting to shoot Sadan. My team and I retreated to the cold harsh mountains in Northern Russia for 8 months. We hid saving our precious ammo and only shooting when we knew the Russian soldiers spotted us and were going to fire. We ate bark along with any other edible things we found, and put snow in our water bottles then let it melt. We were getting lucky because we were able to stay one step ahead of the Russians for the most part, but our luck began to run out. We had to use increasingly more ammo, shooting patrols that found out our position. Then on December 15th the patrol found us and overwhelmed us. We fired till we had no ammo, threw our grenades till we had none left. The five other members of my team were killed but it cost the Russians a lot of men because my teammates, my brothers continued fighting even when they had been shot multiple times, when a normal man would have died after they took the first bullet these guys they showed those Russians how we fight till the end. The only problem with the fact that my team and I killed so many Russians is that the guys ...
