Ruthless Revenge
Revenge is an emotion that corrupts the innermost parts of the soul. It is not an emotion that comes and goes, but is a sentiment that is unwavering and perpetual until successfully carried out. Revenge is the hunger that drives someone to inconceivable measures in order to inflict similar pain or suffering to a person who is the center of previous internal sufferings. Although revenge is focused on the original perpetrator, it affects the revenge seeker as well as the victim. The one who seeks revenge is further hurt by the consequences involved with their revenge. Once the obsession to carry out their anger and bitterness on the victim takes root, the individual often cannot rest until their vengeance is carried out. Although the goal of revenge is to finally find peace and rest by inflicting retaliation on the adversary, if the individual cannot find a way to complete this vengeance, the longing for rest and peace is unable to be grasped. However, this often leads to distress, agitation, and hostility. The anger and bitterness formed contrasts greatly with the initial goal of the revenge seeker. Although there is a chance that the revenge seeker may be able to accomplish their revenge and obtain some sort of respite, it is very unlikely that it will endure. If the revenge seeker is keen and ambitious enough to actually inflict pain or harm on another individual, there is no telling what other actions or means to obtain revenge that the seeker may use in the future. This causes a circle of revenge that is continuous; therefore, the goal for peace is never truly obtained. For example, as seen in many popular superhero movies, the villain always finds a way to seek revenge on the hero. Despite many failures and successes, the villain is never content with their current situation and feels as if they have to keep striving and pursuing revenge and equality.
