Last summer, I was at the Mall of America in Nickelodeon Universe (the amusement park in the Mall of America). I had been there because we were in Minneapolis. I have never been a fan of the Spongebob Roller Coaster, and I certainly didn’t think I would be able to ride it. I was really afraid. I was in Minneapolis for a summer soccer tournament in Blaine. Two of my best friends Riley and Brynn, my brother and I decided to go to the Mall of America. Once we got there, we chose to go to the Rainforest Cafe. It was a shame that it was closed for remodeling. So, instead we went to the food court and ate at A&W. That way we could go to Nickelodeon Universe afterwards! The four of us were very excited, we haven’t been there in many years. We ate our food as fast as we could and headed for the amusement park. We had trouble getting our tickets at first because the ticket machine wasn’t working. …show more content…
My little brother wanted to get wet, so we put him in the front of the log. The robots on the ride frightened all of us, part of that was because they were so old and it didn’t help that Paul Bunyan was holding an axe. The big drop was coming and Riley was in the back blocked Brynn in front of her. She wanted to be in the picture, so she stood up. Fortunately, she didn’t fall off the log but we did call her crazy. Next, was the Fairly Oddparents ride. That one was funny, my brother screamed like a girl and the rest of us girls screamed like men. My brother and my friend Riley wanted to go on the Spongebob ride, the beginning of the ride went straight up and when it got all the way up to the ceiling it dropped all the way down to the floor. There was no way I was going to ride that. All day I avoided the Spongebob ride. I convinced them to go on different rides every time they mentioned the idea of going on it. But soon we ran out of rides and the Spongebob ride was next, I thought I was going to throw
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
As my family piled into our car for our four-hour drive, I sincerely hoped my brothers wouldn’t ruin the best chance that we’ve had in a long time. They were already arguing about who got what video game, and were not making my mom and dad feel any better about going. We were going to Illinois, to Chicago, to be even more specific. Chicago was the city I’d been dreaming about visiting for a long time. (Well, that and New York.) I could not believe that my parents were getting out of their comfort zone and taking us to a big city.
It was back when I was 14 years old in the 8th grade, when I got an opportunity to take a trip to Washington D.C. to learn, explore, and meet new people in a different state. There was a long way to go, for me to be able to be chosen to go on the trip. This trip was competitive because only 10 students would get to go. I had to do some paperwork to let the assistant principal at my middle school know I’d be participating in competing with other kids at school to go to Washington D.C. I wrote an essay explaining who I was, how would this trip benefit my future, and why did I want to go to Washington D.C. I’d also be in charge of raising $500 on my own and also in the essay I had to explain how would I raise $500 on my own. I was settle to be
It was kind of funny listening to my family react to getting wet, especially my grandma because she hates getting wet. Plus when we went down the long slide at the end, my heart felt like it was out of my chest. It was an exhilarating ride, and I had a good time on it. My uncle would say before our trip that Disney had the best fireworks that he ever saw, so I was looking forward to them since my uncle is kind of a pyrotechnic.
We went back to our room after we finished at Epcot. It had gotten up to ninety degrees outside, and we were exhausted. It was a thrilling experience to see all my favorite places again in Epcot. I can’t wait to come back and relive this experience again. This place is something I will never forget.
It was a warm April day and all of the students were let out of school for the day. I went home to finish packing with the help of my parents making sure that I had everything and I wasn 't forgetting. I was excited for a week now to go on the trip to Washington D.C. with the whole 8th grade class for a week.
I was so excited. I could hardly breathe through the hour drive it took to get there. I was squished between my two ten-year-old best friends in the back seat of a white Saturn, but I didn't care. I was practicing over and over in my head what I was going to say to all the smart-alecky adults who would tell me I was too young to ride the water slides. I was simply going to reply, "Actually I'm ten, going on eleven."
Today was my sister's birthday! We went to Animal Kingdom, Which had a really fun ride called The Legend Of The Forbidden Mountain, where you go up the coaster normally and drop backwards. I screamed really loud! After a while, we got lunch. We went to a restaurant in the park, where I had the best grilled cheese of my life. We spent a few more hours at the park and left at dinner time. That night, we had dinner at a really nice restaurant. I got steak and mashed potatoes and we left after eating for about an hour and went back to our resort. When we got back we went to our cousin's room and watched
One place I would absolutely love to see again is Washington D.C. I went there once with my parents and my brother. On the way to Washington D.C. we had stopped at Georgia and North Carolina and stayed at each place for a few days. When we went, we stayed at my dad’s cousin’s house. Since my dad’s cousin lived in Washington D.C. we didn’t have to drive everywhere, so we just walked. So, while we were staying in D.C., we saw a lot of different sights. For example, we saw Lincoln’s Memorial, Washington’s Memorial, and even saw the White House. While we were there we also checked out a bunch of historical museums.
We all had a blast getting to see all of the characters and just being together in Disney. While in Disney we did a lot of things and went to many different places. We loved swimming, and we would swim a lot. The resort that we stayed at for the beginning of the trip had multiple huge pools.
We rode lots of rides. Then we went back to Harry Potter world. We saw Hermione's dress from the actual movie. It was so cool.
It was about two years ago when I arrived in United States of America, and I still remember the day when I left my native country, Honduras. As I recall, one day previous to my departure, I visited my relatives who live in San Pedro Sula. They were all very happy for me to see me except my grandmother Isabel. She looked sad; even though she tried to smile at all times when I was talking to her, I knew that deep inside of her, her heart was broken because of my departure the next morning. I remember that I even told her, “Grandma, do not worry about me, I’ll be fine. I promise that I will write you letters and send you pictures as much as possible.” Here reply was, “I know sweetie I know you will.” Suddenly after she said that I started to cry. For som...
We decided to come here for the day while the boys (all of our boyfriends) went to a car show. Finally, after almost four hours of waiting we were at the gate and ready to board the roller coaster. We were so
When I heard my parents talking about going to Disney World I was so excited. It was a long trip down to Florida and I could not sit still, because I was so excited. We finally arrived that evening and decided to stay in a hotel near the theme park. When it was time for bed I could not go to sleep for a long time, because I was so excited about going at Disney world. When I saw the big mirror ball from the entrance, I was amazed. Disney world had a wide variety of rides. There were tons of rides that shocked me. Some of these rides made you feel like you were riding in a jet because of how fast they were. There was even a roller coaster ride in the huge mirror ball. It was a slow ride, but I still liked it because there was air conditioning inside the ball. We spent all day at the park until we had ridden everything. That night Disney World had a firework show. The fireworks seemed like they lasted forever with the amazing colors bursting in the air one right after another. When the firework show finally ended my parents told me that it was time to leave. I was...
Getting lost in a mall was something I was keen on doing. On that day I was on a field trip for my _ grade class. We went to McWane Science Center, it was one of the best places I ever been. I remember touching little sting rays and bamboo sharks. It reminded me of my most favorite place I the world, Mississippi Museum of Natural Science.
