As a detective, it is my job to determine the right from wrong, the genuine from the fake. Lately, I have been working on a missing person case, but with as much luck as Coyote chasing Roadrunner. So there I was, working late at the station when the phone rings. Chelsi, our night shift operator , picked it up and answered. I hear a man in distress on the other line. When she puts it back down she looks directly at me and said,” I’ve got another missing person case for you, Chief.”

Apparently four or five years ago a man, Christopher Mulholland, went missing in the same exact area. There was also a similar case two years ago with a man named George W. Temple. The weird part was that they were all on business travel. That meant that had have been staying at a hotel or Bed and Breakfast. So I headed off in search of a local and popular place to stay. The first one that was mentioned the most was The Bell and Dragon. As I was heading over to it I notice that the buildings on the street that I was on had no windows at all. This was unusual considering that The Bell and Dragon were a popular place.
Just as I was about to start up the road to the hotel, I saw a unique place. The sign stated that it too was also a Bed and Breakfast. Since it was closer than The Bell and Dragon I went and rang the

Again I rang the doorbell and this time she answered immediately. “I told you to get a warrant, leave!” she said. I showed her the warrant and as I started to walk in she said,” The last time I had a visitor was last week.” I asked about her guest book and she sort of flinched when I said that. She led me to the sitting room. “I have to put on some tea, I’ll be right back”,she said. When I opened the guest book I noticed that there had only been three people ever to visit the inn. The same three people that went missing. “Is something wrong deary?”,she said. I immediately dropped the book in surprise. “No, everything is fine.”,I said. She handed me the tea and I stirred it to mix in the

She ignored all the deep breaths she was neglecting herself of and continued the story, which I thought would never end. “Of course the poor man handed the letter to me faster than a bullet. The envelope was spruced up with blue ink specked with ‘I’s’ dotted with hearts. And on the corner was a tiny lipstick stain that she kissed with the small lips of her. The servant hid it with his thumb, it made me furious. I practically ripped the envelope in half for what I can remember. My anger and pettiness got the hold of me- I read the first line- ‘Dear Tom, you ought to come visit me soon, I’ve been rather lonely in the last few weeks.’- I was absolutely furious. I threw the letter through the window, and off the balcony. I hoped it had floated on the bay and sunk deep down and dissolved like it was written on toilet
At about 1940 HRS I arrived at Deputy Melchers location and made contact with Deputy Melcher and Gary Jacobs the Reporting Person/ Victim. As I pulled onto the property, which was on the west side of the road, I observed a large tin building, with a walk-in door and a large over head door facing to the East. The large overhead door was open and inside I could see several automobiles.

The idea of a detective catching an elusive convict or solving an improbable crime has been prevalent in all corners of the world, spread throughout many cultures and societies. The detective genre is held as the idea that an individual has to solve a crime. This detective usually has nothing to gain from solving the crime, but they see it more as an obstacle. The detective doesn’t always take every case, as human beings, we are too often curious of the impossible; our natural instinct is to question why and how things work in this world. People crave mystery, to taste a bit of improbable, to see what the detectives see, to see what is overlooked by many. The idea of an intelligent witty, sharp “sleuth” with an obedient sidekick has been prevalent

Something happened my sophomore year of high school that little did I know would change my perspective, not only of myself, but life in general. I was looking for something new and exciting to enhance my high school existence and decided to give the Criminal Justice Club a try. I was familiar with the advisor of the club, but knew that the club had astigmatism for attracting those students who were just looking for something easy to do. I knew about the criminal justice system, but only what they show on Law and Order. However, I immediately fell in love, not only with the club but the entire prospect of Criminal Justice. I stepped into the club as if it were a place I belonged and easily became a leader. I was able to learn things the TV shows
Early in the morning, on November 22, 1963, Julia Ann Mercer was driving past the Texas School Book Depository on her way to work. Just past the Depository, about half-way from the railway overpass, she saw a green truck parked illegally on the side of the road. Because it was blocking traffic, she had to stop and wait for the other lane to clear before she could go. She noticed that there were two men in the truck. The back of the truck said "Air-conditioning. The passenger of the truck got out and pulled out of the toolbox, located on the back of the truck, what appeared to be a gun case. The many pulled the gun case out and started walking towards the grassy knoll just up the hill. As she drove on, she noticed three policemen standing a little ways down the road talking apparently not seeing the man with the gun case.
After Mrs. Hale, the Sheriff was next. The local sheriff told his story of what he had seen, and the conversation he with his wife. Then he started talking about the conversation he had with George the district attorney that next day at his
Leaving the bodies for last we walked down the drive to take a look. Several rifles and shotguns were leaned carefully again the big oak. Two handguns and some knives were on the grass in front of them. Four people dangled from a branch of the tree close enough to each other to bump like a weird wind chime. A young couple and the other twice their age at a guess from the gray hair and styles of dress. They were probably parents and a married son or daughter with their spouse. Other than being hung there were no injuries apparent on any of the four. From the condition of the bodies they had been dead about a day.
Everyone loves a thrill. We watch movies that make us rethink what is in the dark with us, jump off of bridges and cliffs with our only savior being a bungee cord that may or may not be 10 years old, and we create gravity defying, speeding cars without motors and brakes. The crazy thing is, we do it all for fun. I, however, didn’t have a fun time when I went on a roller coaster that went upside down for the first time.
It was dark that night, I was nervous that this dreadful day was going to get worse. Sunday, October 23, 1998 I wanted to start writing this to tell about the weird things i’m starting to see in this new neighborhood. Gradually I keep seeing pots and pans on the sink suddenly move to the floor. I would ask my sister but she is out with my mom and dad getting the Halloween costumes. When they got home I didn’t tell them what I saw because i've seen Halloween movies and I have to have dissimulation otherwise the ghost will come out and get me first. October 24, 1998 I think I got a little nervous yesterday with the whole ghost thing. 12:32pm, Went to eat lunch with the family today and I go to get my coat. I heard the words furious and madness,
