Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside Emma Bliss, both as a classmate, and as a member of the Green Mountain College campus community. During this time, I’ve witnessed Emma’s ability to prioritize school work, build strong relationships, articulate herself well in writing, communicate effectively in groups, think critically, enact positive change in her community, be a reliable leader, and advocate for unheard voices.
As fellow classmates, Emma and I were partners in a project where we drafted a

As a Chemistry teacher at Vantage Career Center, I have the pleasure of having Alexa Plescher during the current school year.
The second, is to participate in a community partnering project. After receiving approval for the community project, to partner and develop a lecture which will be presented to her students. On the following dates, October 8, 13, and 14, R.K. and I continued to work on the community partnering project.
During the time I was journaling for this project, I misinterpreted the focus. Instead of the group doing this project together, we have each been working at different paces if you will. So, in consideration of the directions for this summary, I cannot rightly say that we agreed together for two weeks on this experience, and in so doing may have come to a different end result than if we had agreed. With that in mind, I have decided to include excerpts from my journal within my overall response to the project, along with reflection and insight into specific instances that stand out in my mind.
Emelie is a very strong person. I felt a connection with her from the first few minutes we spoke. I have a friendship with her.
At first, it wasn’t too hard, as the work load was rather miniscule for all of my classes. Around midterms the amount of schoolwork exceeded the amount of time I had available and has stayed there since. There are 168 hours in any given week, 50 of which I am working, and 17 hours are class time. That leaves me with 101 hours. Around 56 hours are used to sleep as I attempt to get around 8 hours of sleep a night. Down to 45 hours to drive places, eat, and socialize I realized I need to manage my time better. The biggest obstacle that challenged my success in college was spreading myself too

Celebrate this milestone greater than all the others, for it is the time we have spent here in our high school careers that will always be held close to heart.
I loved all of her little quirks and weird habits. Like how she used to always tell people if they smelt good after she hugged them, or how she would joke about her life ending if she couldn’t find something, or how when she was nervous or shy she would pull her sleeves down so they went over the tips of her fingers. She went from the always cheery easily excitable big eyed weirdo she was, to this tired strung out almost scared girl. I remember walking up to her and making eye contact, she looked ready to burst into tears. I asked if everything was okay and she replied as honest as I have ever seen her with a simple “No,” and walked away, hugging her books to her
