I've waited months, years for this day, and it's finally here!. The adrenaline rushing through my veins, I have never been this excited, it like I woke up with all the money in In the world. Speaking of mornings, I woke up with a big grin on my face. I'm not ordinarily a morning person, but today was my grade 8 graduation. I went on with my day like usual until it was time to get ready. Earlier that week I went out with my family to pick up everything, my dad always saves everything last minute, like back to school shopping, I always get with the things nobody wants! Anyways, we had just pulled up into the mapleview parking lot, we started off with buying my dress first, given the fact that as soon as I walked in and laid my

Growing up as an only child I made out pretty well. You almost can’t help but be spoiled by your parents in some way. And I must admit that I enjoyed it; my own room, T.V., computer, stereo, all the material possessions that I had. But there was one event in my life that would change the way that I looked at these things and realized that you can’t take these things for granted and that’s not what life is about.
On the Monday October 27th, 2014, for the first time in 4 years I did not wake up at 5:30 in the morning, I was not putting on a green skivvy shirt and shorts. There was no formation, no one that was higher command I had to report to, telling me where I had to go, what time I had to eat breakfast, what was I doing this day or what our platoon plans were for the day. There were no PT (physical training) I had to do this morning. Instead, I woke up grab a regular t-shirt, khaki shorts, and my two sea bags full of clothing and gear that I collected during my time in the Marine Corps. I threw everything in my vehicle and drove from Camp Pendleton, California to Quincy, Illinois. Within two weeks I was accepted to Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Leaving the bodies for last we walked down the drive to take a look. Several rifles and shotguns were leaned carefully again the big oak. Two handguns and some knives were on the grass in front of them. Four people dangled from a branch of the tree close enough to each other to bump like a weird wind chime. A young couple and the other twice their age at a guess from the gray hair and styles of dress. They were probably parents and a married son or daughter with their spouse. Other than being hung there were no injuries apparent on any of the four. From the condition of the bodies they had been dead about a day.
It was all fun and games until we heard the sirens. We went to the cops terrified that we were in so much trouble but we didn't know why, once the police told us we did nothing wrong, we all learned a very important lesson. Ask for permission before you do things. It was a bright sunny summer day in August and my friends and I went down to CMH high school to play football. Me and my friend were captains and we picked out teams. A couple of touchdowns later we heard the sirens “Wee-Woo Wee-Woo”,we were scared out of our minds.
When I was younger, I never questioned anything. I never asked why it was me who was overlooked. Or why the other kids treated me differently or even when was I leaving. I couldn’t ask much because my spoken English was limited and clumsy, my sign language was better but not many Americans knew sign language. While communication was cut off, fun wasn’t.

As I lay here in bed, the feeling of bliss and happiness surround me. My wedding day was perfect, my guests were satisfied and my entourages were ecstatic. I am finally married to my best friend. The person that understands me and who has stood by me through all the ups and downs. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us. For now, I will sleep as I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow as well. Europe here we come.
