The time I accomplished something would have to be ever since I got a job myself, when I told my mom about the job she didn’t like the idea she wanted me to focus on school and helping her out at the house and taking care of my sisters. So me and her talked and I told her if I work and keep my grades okay to the point where I’m not failing to keep the job and when I get to failing bad quit it and just focus on it all on school and she agreed. I was called into admin with three managers sitting around. My department just passed the district walk-through a week before, the department was doing great, so I was curious to see what this meeting was about. My boss and bosses boss where sitting down, a lady from human resources was phone conferencing in. Defining moments in my life have helped shape my mindset. One thing that really bothers me is how much I changed. I used to play games all day, not focus on school, wouldn't get in serious trouble, and was very innocent compared to my present day self. There are cons and pros of my past self compared to how I am currently. I am more happy of how I am now then I am before. As time changes, so do I and I can not stop that. What’s done has already been done and can’t be changed so you always have to look towards the future and never the past. The past will not definite who you are today unless you let it. I would have never expect that I would be transferred to a continuation high school in my freshman year. It is a bad thing to many people, but I am thankful that I am sent to it because I will learn
The struggle of not being able to breathe properly, gasping for air while the fever inside was killing me little by little and my fragile self in the age of four did not know what was happening to me I was brain dead, more like clueless little kid almost having a near death experience of having a seizure that in the end it changed my life and the way I looked at it because God gave me another chance to actually prove to him that I can be someone in my life and grateful to be alive today knowing that I have family that actually loves me for who I am.

It has been around 14 hours since I have gotten back from the Freshmen Retreat, and I happy to be able to write about the success of the trip in all parts, regarding my personal goal, what I learned about my fellow advisory peers, and realizing a bit more about myself.
I became who I am today because of a life changing experience that occurred in late-November of 2013. As I sat waiting for the awards ceremony my palms got sweaty and the butterflies in my stomach multiplied. The announcer seemed to drag on the awards for hours when in reality it was only minutes until first place was awarded. It was then that I realized I was a State Champion.

I love my big sister and seeing her struggle doing basic day to day tasks took a toll on me. I felt I had the responsibility to step up and take care of her and help with everything and anything she needed. I did everything from helping my sister tie her shoes to carrying her because she easily became exhausted from walking, to telling her she was going to survive this because we all needed her to keep fighting. That summer after school I just wanted to find a job and start making some money. Going to college for anther four year was something I thought I could not handle. I final got a job at UPS unloading trucks. At first I thought how hard could it be? But every day I would come home exhausted from working in the heat. And then when I got tiny pay check, it hit me. From then on I decided that manual labor was something that I could not do the rest of my life and I could definitely not support a family on that income. A job behind a desk in the air conditioning was what I wanted.
As far back as I could remember, I was always in a rush to grow up and be responsible. I was about thirteen when I realized I wanted a job, so I could have my own money. I’d even fill out applications online, lying about my age but it never worked. A few birthdays went by and I was celebrating my sixteenth birthday and a few weeks later; I received my first retail job. My very first job was at a popular teen store called Aeropostale. I learned and experienced a lot working there and made friends as well. Although, I got what I desired, I often had uncertainties once I really got the feel for the part-time position. In life, people leave and things change and by the end of my employment, I would soon look back and realize it.

Whenever I am faced with a problem and have to make a decision, I know that my mother will be behind me one-hundred percent no matter what avenue I choose to travel down is. It is a great feeling to know that someone is always going to support me in anything I choose to do. It alleviates much of the stress that comes along with making decisions. For example, when I could not make a decision and choose which college I was going to, a community college or a university, my mother reassured me that she would be happy with the choice I made, as long as it made me happy. Having my mother tell me that alleviated much of the pressure I felt to pick a college. I did not want to disappoint her, and knowing that I would not, made the decision a lot easier. ...
