My utmost passion for science is one of the reasons for choosing medicine. I find science a fascinating subject that encompasses all aspects of our everyday life. Indeed, I like the fact that you get to acquire something new every day.I find career in medicine as challenging marathon, which I am ready to undertake. Studying biology, chemistry, physics and maths in A-Level helps me enhance my skills such as problem-solving, research, practical, analytical, time management and ability to work under pressure. Being a member of student council made me more responsible and confident. It developed leadership, organizational and communication skills in me. Working with other council members demonstrated the importance of teamwork. I am an active member of science and community service societies at my school. I have won and participated in various national and international science competitions and olympiads including Google Science Fair, Waterloo Math Contest, and NCTC-12. I was fortunate enough to get selected for the first and second camp of NCTC-12, which is a road to ICHO. Attending the first camp during this summer break turned out to be one of the most valuable experiences of my life. Living in a new city for 9 days, away from my hometown, gave me an experience of hostel life and made me feel more independent. Teaching underprivileged children, visiting an orphanage and collecting charity for them by arranging bake sales proved to be a precious part of my life. Outside school I love playing sports such as basketball and badminton, which keeps both my mind and body fit. Taking proper care of one's health is considered to be the right of our body. My secondary interest lies in arts and crafts, visual arts and in making lanyard designs. Arts enhanced a variety of skills in me such as observation, creativity, and visual thinking. My grandma and her difficulties moved my attraction to health sciences. Once I found my career I was totally engrossed in my studies. I seriously enjoyed the health sciences. It is not always the figures but the learning’s, the experiences that matter. I loved kinesiology; this field of health sciences attached me with the people.
I never had a passion to be a doctor. However, I’ve always had the urge to help people. This field will give me that ability. It will prepare me to be a professional funeral director. In which I will indeed have a scientific education to handle the human dead body.
My affinity for biology comes from my childhood days that I spent watching dissection of rats and looking at the cellular structure under microscope. My mother, being a professor of biology regularly used to take me with her to a Biology lab and that is where my journey towards medical career began. Early on in my life, my family went through a long agony of my father's illness and death. This became a solitary stimulus for me to take up this profession and a driving force to strive for excellence. Going through that turmoil of recurrent hospital visits gave me a firsthand experience of an anguishing family.
In the degree that I am seeking I know there will be a lot of science to take. Science has always come natural to me, possibly because you can actually see the product and touch it. I plan to become a veterinarian not just for the love of animals but for the science and knowledge also. The dissecting of animals has always been interesting to me. It is a whole new world that I can wait to explore even more. It is amazing how God made living creatures. I just want to help keep them form getting sick and doctoring them when they do.
Surrounded by thousands of stars, complete silence, and spectacular mountains, I stood atop the Colorado Mountain Peak awestruck by nature's beauty. Immediately, I realized that I must dedicate my life to understanding the causes of the universe's beauty. In addition, the hike taught me several valuable lessons that will allow me to increase my understanding through scientific research.
When my first grade teacher asked me what I wanted to be in the future I told her, “I want to be a doctor.” My answer stayed exactly the same when my eleventh grade English teacher asked the question. Ever since I was little science has always captured my interest. I was fascinated by the way our body worked and how everything had an explanation behind it.
The decision to become a doctor is a very personal one. For many it takes years of personal realization. And for others, it 's always been their life 's calling to pursue medical school and ultimately don the iconic white lab coat. Being born to doctor parents, medical profession was not something very new to me and always seemed like one of the options that can be pursued. But what really committed me to medical profession was death of my best friend at a young age due to kidney problem. That sad afternoon became my inspiration to spare others the emotional agony that I had to go through as a young boy.
When I look back at my life to reach for the moments that define me, I see the look of pride on my mother’s face when I inform her of a new achievement, I smell the freshly cut grass before a major football game, and I hear the sound of my name being read off my pharmacy name tag. But it was not until I read the lines of perplexity and distress on an Alzheimer’s patient’s brow as he grasped for the name of his year-old grandchild, that I was shook with the realization that I had been taking even the smallest of my memories and experiences for granted. From primary school, I was always amazed by the fact that the human body, composed of millions of cells, develops from a single fertilized mother cell. This idea triggered my interest for the science of human body. But the main reason I joined medical school was witnessing the actions of the excellent medical unit that saved my sister’s life, after her chocking on peanut. At the university, my interest in anatomy was amplified when I was studying anatomy in the second year. Later, this interest increased during various rotations in surgery and internal medicine.

Everyone says this generation is the future, the people and the citizens of tomorrow’s society. Except if this generation is not educated to grow and progress with the planet and learn how to help it, there will be no “next generation”; the earth simply will not be able to sustain our life forms. This is why science education is important to the future of our lives and our planet. Where if not for the innovation of science and its cures, we would still be living in the Dark Ages where the simple flu would have killed a family, and smallpox and other diseases caused epidemics and panics. Every day science classes are educating kids on the basics and the higher levels of science. Out of all these kids a few are bound to become doctors and research biologist that will help cure cancer, the planet of harmful pollutions, and more. One might say that science was the one that started the pollution in the first place, but as you can see, it has started to help fix the damage it has caused. Also, science education (although thought impractical by some) surrounds our everyday life and is need to understand some of nature’s simplest things. As a child I had always been interested in medicine and the medical world. My passion of learning about the human body started when I was younger.
