After speaking with multiple members in the M-HEAL, I have been able to learn that PeriOperative is the premiere opportunity to combine my love for both business and medicine. Professionally, I aim to work in the business side of medical technology or healthcare and the fact that the PeriOperative team allows me to gain exposure to working in the field through an impactful project excites me greatly. I have family who has lived in the Dominican Republic so being able to give back to the community in whatever way possible is something I would really like to be a part of. Many barriers prevent effective communication within inter-professional teams.
