Journal Article Review Throughout this essay, different aspects of nursing practice and health promotion activities will be discussed. These aspects were covered in the journal titled “Pender's Health Promotion Model: Integration into Practice”. This journal focuses mainly on Pender’s health promotion model. This model reflects on health promotions. Since Pender was once a nurse, she will have a great effect on the nursing practice described in the journal.

Since it focuses on the patients themselves, it can apply to basically any field of nursing. If the patients are willing to take positive actions, then they may get better. With that being said, a snow ball effect could result in the future where more patients take the correct actions to get better faster. One example could be if a person had cancer and was unsure if he/she wanted to put up the battle of chemotherapy in order to have the greatest chance of survival. If the patient had a positive outlook and decided to take the action and get chemotherapy, this would push them toward taking more challenges in the future. All three of the sub-theories in this model could affect the patient with cancer. The first theory would come into effect when the patient realizes that chemo could have a positive impact on their future. The second theory would come into play if the patient’s nurse made it seem like the action the patient was going to take was in his or her control. Lastly, the third sub-theory reflects solely on the patient’s self-confidence. So the patient will have to try, to the best of his or her ability, to be confident in his or her self in order to get better and accept the action of receiving
