Psychology is the study of the mind and its functions, focusing on mental activity, behavior and brain process. Psychologists study the mind and emotions in relationship to behaviors through a variety of fields, not just clinical or counseling psychology. In fields outside of clinical or counseling, psychologists have the ability to apply their skills and research to improve things like "technology, consumer products, energy systems, communication and information, transportation, decision making, work settings and living environments." (APA Div 21)

The first division I found of interest was the Society for Behavioral Neuroscience and Comparative Psychology. This group of individuals focuses on studying behavior and its relation to learning, memory, cognition, etc. These scientists also study the brain in relation to its evolution, function, as well as repair. I found this fascinating because having the ability to study the brain and all of its functions will help so many and their families. 'Chapter 4: Development Across the Life Span' and 'Chapter 13: Self and Personality' would be beneficial for the Society of Pediatric Psychology (Division 54.) These two chapters touch base on the sense of self as well as adolescent development which are both things that are needed to be able to assist children in promoting their health and psychological well
