There are many characteristics in a person that reflects on one’s leadership skills. Not everyone is cut out to be a quality leader, it all depends on the individual. Many leaders must be able to have the patience to listen to what others have to say. Leaders must acquire communication and social skills in order to be able to make an effort with the populace. Being able to get along with many different types of people is extremely important to becoming a leader. In the short novel, The Pearl by John Steinbeck, Kino does not have the leadership qualities to be a leader within his tribal village community for the reasons that he has a short temper and does not communicate well.
