In life, patience is a virtue. Patience is one of the most important characteristics a person can carry with them. My entire life has been a learning experience, and I have learned to become more patient as the years have gone by. In Romans 5: 2-4, the bible states, "through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." This verse has really helped me through tough times, because no matter how bad the rough patch is that I'm going through, I know that suffering produces perseverance. God has a plan for me and it starts with a blessing and ends with eternal life. Therefore, I will be a better man at the end of everything. As many people know, I am a golfer. Golf is a game of patience, and the moment you lose your patience, your game goes downhill. Just this past year, I have started a new tradition before every event. I read my bible and focus on the verses about patience. By doing this, my game has improved immensely. Being patient is not the easiest thing to do, but when God is with you, anything is possible. Ever since we have talked about Hebrews in class, I have been focusing on a few of the passages. Dr. Jones stated, "The sweet anticipation and favorable expectation of God keeping his promises and expressing his redemptive love in Christ. It is a deep trust based on my experiences with God." Hebrews 3:6 says, "but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope."
