Have you ever known the feeling of seeing all of your friends getting trophies and not you? A feeling of being left out is one of the effects of not giving children participation trophies. Children should get participation trophies to boost team and self-moral. Being left out from receiving a participation trophy can effect a child’s self-esteem. When kids work hard for something and get recognition they essentially feel good about themselves. That can also be said about the opposite effect. Not enough or none at all recognition can make a child feel like they’re not good enough. Which leaves the child with a damaged self-esteem.
