Technology has advanced immensely in the last 50 years. We are living in the digital age where technology and social media have become a part of our everyday routine. Majority of the nation owns a cell phone equipped with the ability to text. Since technology has become a very convenient way of communication, it has even managed to change human interactions and become apart of relationships. Texting limits relationships because its simply impossible to express emotion the way you can in person. Physically communicating and connecting with a person will never compare to texting or any social media.
One woman, Ms. Smith, who was affected by this issue, did some research into what made texting while driving so dangerous. Most of the drivers are likely to mix up driving and messaging from their cell phones while driving regardless of the laws standing on the issues, and danger posed to them. A majority of those drivers engaging in this act do not contemplate the possible detrimental effects from their actions. Research has indicated that texting while driving contributes to road accidents significantly. My advice to those who remain skeptical is to view the matter differently and think about the positive that can come from this “new” form of communication, versus the negative. Everything will always have a little of both, so it comes down to perception and how you chose to look at it. If used efficiently, text messaging can spark ingenuity into the minds of messengers and can convey content-heavy messages without all the messy nonverbals lurking around. What if we as a society had banned the printing press when it first arrived because we believed it to be, as Crystal adds, “the invention of the devil because it would put false opinions into people’s minds”? There will come a time when we will laugh at the ridiculous opposition that met text messaging, as we presently do about telephones and the printing press long ago.
The past two decades have overwhelmed the human experience with technology, along with all its distractions. The direct relationship between the mind and the body’s ability to adjust from these distractions can be extremely difficult .Further research has shown that it has become an addiction for many.
