Overfishing is when people fish so much in one area that there is nothing left to fish for. This can be bad is some places because billions of people rely on fish for protein, and fishing is the principle for life for millions of people around the world (1). If there are no fish in an area where people need it most, then people will have to move to a different place so they can have food. People also rely on fish for money. Prices of fish can be scaled by the quality of the fish, the kind of fish, or the quantity of the fish you catch. When your fishing season decreases, you lose money to pay for food, dept, and bills. This can lead to you also having to move to a different place. There are many ways that we can stop overfishing. One way is to have more protected marine areas. We can do this by setting up more protective areas in the oceans which can help reduce the effects of overfishing on some of the world’s most incredible reefs and marine structures …show more content…

This is the best solution because you could have no fishing zones in major lakes or in oceans where fish are most populated in coral reefs. This will boost up the population. This solution is better than the other solution because if you put up or give out pamphlets showing endangered fish and where they're located then people are going to say, “Look, this fish is so big and so cool.” Then they will want to go catch it because they know where it’s located and either have it stuffed and put up on their wall as a trophy if they catch it, or they will use it as a source of food to feed family of friends. Then that person will tell everyone about this great spot fish and that place will be overfished. So when you have areas that can’t be fished in more populated areas, then they won’t be able to be fished. When the population of the fish that are endangered goes up, then you can let people fish there again so it will not overpopulate the
