Olivia Pope is the star actress in the hit television drama show called Scandal. Scandal is a show that was written by Shonda Rhimes, the reason that I bring this up is because Shonda’s shows are unique in the fact that she creates real, messed up, broken character’s who have experienced what we call life. Olivia Pope is an extremely successful and powerful woman, who runs her own firm specializing in politics in the heart of Washington, D.C. Olivia is often referred to as a “fixer”, who is dedicated to fixing problems in order to protect public images and reputations, which often comes with a fair share of deception and cover ups. Olivia portrays herself as a strong, independent woman but because she pushes everyone away she often finds herself
Using the block method I will illustrate the differences and similarities of Connie’s character verses her sister June’s character from the story where are you going, where have you been. The story is about a protagonist fifteen year old girl called Connie who is living in her rebellious adolescent stage. She does not enjoy the fact that she is living with her family and most of the time she lets her mind wander into daydreaming spending time with the boys. Connie’s tenacious nature makes her almost argue with her mother about every little issue. Her older sister June who is twenty four on the other hand gets along well with her mother and she is considered the better of the two, June is an obedient hardworking lass who works as the secretary at Connie’s high school . She is tranquil in nature and does her chores with no fuss at all. Connie’s mother plays an important role on the story to bring out Connie’s character, she is envious of Connie’s beauty and her youthful nature. Connie’s dad on the other hand is more of a workaho...
For example, she had to go through father dying, She always has her own way of doing things and will never do anything that she does not want to do. She will say whatever comes to mind, even if it is offensive or rude. For example, she would bicker back and forth with John Reid telling him horrible things and not feel any sympathy for his feelings:“I hate you Mr.Reid. And I’ll find a way of getting back at you!”.

She was left confused, knowing that whatever she did would end up hurting somebody. Her kind and sensitive nature allowed her to sympathize with Olivia, and she declares what thriftless sighs poor Olivia shall breathe !'.

Oprah Winfrey has helped thousands of children attend school with her scholarships that she has funded. Many of these children would never go to school or continue their college career without her amazing efforts of providing financial support to these children. Oprah also helped build homes for families through her efforts with Habitat for Humanity and her donations after Hurricane Katrina helped families start their lives over again after the mass destruction of the hurricane by providing the financial support to rebuild many communities and neighborhoods(“Oprah Winfrey”). In my opinion from what I have understood from the text she is a tempestuous character. She is initially perceived as being wild bright and proud. Her character then develops a macabre quality that becomes a precocious influence over everybody in the village of Salem. She abuses this 'ability' to turn things to her advantage and others demise.
Her solitary behaviour in the opening scene is quite disturbing. Especially after drinking some of Stanley's liquor, she "washes out the tumbler at the sink" - it immediately prompts that question of what. she is hiding in the dark. Already, she is not appearing too stable as we. later learn, she is hiding a lot about her past as well as her reasons....
