I have decided to study Occupational Therapy because I like to help people, but at the same time I grow as a person because this profession makes one as a person reach the center of each individual getting professional and personal experience, because according to Occupational therapy is responsible for facilitating and improving the performance of people in their daily living activities, such as work, study, sports, play or free time. To be able to perform any activity or occupation, the person must have the opportunity to participate in it, therefore, the occupational therapist also intervenes to promote, advocate and facilitate the social participation of the person considering their environment and their culture.
As an occupational therapist, I contemplate all the dimensions of the "doing" of the human being in its context, directing the intervention in an integral way, towards the achievement of autonomy, giving a satisfactory sense of life and full participation, in any stage of development that is find. Direct participation in occupations and the therapeutic relationship is used, as well as specific techniques of intervention with the person and their environment (physical, social and cultural).
