Summarize your assessment findings, your community health nursing intervention, and the community public health outcomes that you anticipated as a result of the intervention. This can be one or two brief paragraphs. For my community project I used a glo germ kit to show the students how germs stay in their hands if they do not properly wash their hands. Before I started my presentation I assessed their previous knowledge about germs and hand washing. Some students knew that they needed to wash their hands to prevent disease but they did not know when to wash their hands or how germs cause disease. Project Outcomes Reflection Did the project meet your expectations as presented in Part A Clinical Project Worksheet? yes project meet my expectation as presented in part A. The two goals listed for the project were accomplished. The students were able to explain on reason why they need to wash their hands and list at least two times when hand washing should take place. The students also learned how germs cause disease and the importance of hand washing. Every student in the class was able to demonstrate how to properly wash their hands. Did you encounter any unexpected barriers to completing the project? If so, how did you overcome these barriers? Did you have to make any last minute changes to your presentation? The biggest barrier I encountered was the excitement of the students. At the beginning of the presentation it was hard for me to control the class. I overcame this barrier by telling the students that I would only allow the well behave students to participate in the presentation, this changed their behavior immediately. I was planning on only using the glo germ kit on my hands but the students were so excited and well behave that we allowed some volunteers to use the glo germ and demonstrate the correct technique to wash their
