Worldviews form part of the life of every single human being on the planet. A worldview is the way in which a person understands or views the world in which they live in, and each person has his or her own personal way in which they understand the world. Worldview are easily influenced by race, religion, education, family etc. a worldview even though it is personal can still have traits that are common with other people with which you relate. The way a person views the world has a powerful impact on their lives and the lives of people around them. It has an effect on the way the handle life and situations in life which can determine the direction their life is heading. In a world that is largely based on christian principles in some areas, and they are often referred to as "old fashioned" it is clearly seen how worldview can impact gender roles. The bible states that women need to submit to their husbands and that can be the reason why men feel the need to be superior and the head of the house. Another example of this is in the Muslim religion where the women are told to wear clothing that cover their entire body in accordance to their beliefs as muslims and this can make the women feel that they are inferior and have less rights then the men.

Worldviews definitely have their influence on gender roles in society and they vary from worldview to worldview. This can often have consequences in a society that is so diverse and people are bound to clash with each other because their worldviews are contradicting each other.
