I would be a good fit for the Youth Advisory Council because of my dedication, hard work ethic, and leadership abilities. Within my school, I was Co-president of the National Junior Honor Society group for our school’s annual Parking Lot Party (PLP). For this project, I, along with the help of my other officers, led a group of students to create a set of games and activities for the PLP, which came out with very good results and lots of smiles from the students who both played the games and volunteered for them. From this experience, I have learned how much I enjoy planning an event and seeing it executed successfully with positive results on my community, and I hope that I can continue to do this in YAC. Furthermore, I have been very active in my school’s Creative Writing Club, starting back when I was in 5th grade and up until now. Throughout Mock Trial, I have learned how to work with others by cooperating with my teammates, and I realized how important teamwork truly is in accomplishing huge tasks. I have also become confident through my presentations as lawyer and witness, which has stuck with me even after trials have finished. The amount of work that I and other members have put into Mock Trial resulted in me going to Regionals in my first year along with other newbies, as well. Even though the work for Mock Trial was almost too much to bear, I persevered and saw amazing results, showing me that if I truly love something and want to commit to it, then no amount of work is too large. The process has taught me to really appreciate hard work, and I strive to put this same amount of effort into my community through
