Character,Scholarship,Leadership,and service enhance most people's lives. Containing all four principles helps a person grow and learn how to deal with real world problems. Not everyone has had the chance to become a well rounded citizen of both the nation and the school. It is important to give to the community to develop all of the principles of National Honor Society. At First Baptist Church of Cabot all of their members get a chance to do at least one service project. Each year I have helped with different block parties in areas where there is not much for the children to have fun and play with others. I got to reach out to her, tell her about God, showed her where the food table was. All at the same she was telling me she does not get to eat whenever she wants and lived with her mother for all of her life. Later on she told me she was being thrown into public school after moving in with her father even though she has been homeschooled since she was little. Her mother kept her away from her father and half sisters, making their relationship almost impossible. She had to beg her mother to move in with her father. There was no reason for her to stay away from her father other than her mother did not like him or his religion. Furthermore, this has taught me that the world can be an evil place with little to none mercy and we need to learn how to reach out to people in need so we can help them through tough situations. Without meeting this young lady I would never know what it is like for a person to see what death looks like or how starvation affects a child's education. Being able to work with a group of people to help better the community and show people love has taught me to be more sympathetic to my friends and other kids at
