I believe I would be a valuable asset to National Honors Society because not only am I a dedicated student but a caring, disciplined classmate who will provide perspective to club discussions while contributing an open mind. I feel that I would gain a lot being in an environment with people who are just as committed to bettering themselves and the public. I would use these gained skills outside of the National Honor Society to help my community progress. I am wholeheartedly committed to maintaining high academic goals for myself and pushing my younger siblings to do the same, despite hardships that have come our way. I truly enjoy tutoring and emphasis a comfortable environment. A group of academically gifted students could do so much to help yet we often allow our classmates to fall behind in an effort to get ahead. I believe this only holds everyone in the community back as a whole because by failing to recognize the potential of those around us we bypass talents and future contributions that should instead be furnished. I wish to utilize this platform as a member of National Honor Society to bring these issues to light. I trust that I could provide a better chance for real change by initiating a combined, generous effort. I utilize my role as a leader in all these aspects to make sure, while ensuring my peers are given a chance to think and interpret for themselves. As a hardworking leader not only do I aim to succeed but I want the people around me to do so as well. If it is group work, I take the time to make sure everyone understands their liabilities. I am the primary student ambassador for Mooresville High School as my essay on ‘What Leadership Means To Me’ was chosen out of over 20 submitted HOBY Nomination
