As her large brown eyes open, butterflies fill her stomach. The day she had been waiting for so long was finally here. Her plump lips start to curve into a smile as she lets out a sigh of relief. Annie leaps out of the bed and makes a twirl. She can hardly contain her excitement. Then she starts to go through a mental checklist; dress…check, shoes…check, make-up.. check, groom…oh, how hansom he’s going to look Annie thinks to herself. She feels so blessed. She puts up her hair in a messy bun and slips on a soft pink gown. The smell of waffles is calling her from the kitchen. After all the months of watching her weight and exercising she is definitely not going to decline a tasty, warm waffle with ice cream and strawberries on her wedding day. …show more content…

Annie’s heart skips a beat. The butterflies of the morning suddenly start to move even faster in her stomach. She has never felt so excited and happy yet nervous at the same time. Everything is quiet. Her eyes start searching for John. If she could just find him she will be able to take that first step. Her heart races. Her dad holds out his arm, and smiles. “Come Ducky, it’s time.” The last bridesmaid is about to sit down. The music starts playing and the congregation stand up. 120 faces turn to look at her. You can do this Annie, she thinks to herself. She takes a breath and they begin to walk. She can see her mother right in the front bench, tears already streaming down her face. The light inside the chapel isn’t as bright as the sun outside. She can hear voices whispering. The chapel is buzzing with excitement. Then a baby in the back row starts to cry. A million thoughts start to race through her head. I hope that baby doesn’t cry throughout the whole service. Did I remember to check my veil before we left? I wonder whether everything at the reception is set up. Dammit, I can’t remember the first sentence of the vows. Panic fills her chest.
