It was the morning of September 11, 2001 in New Jersey. I got up brushed my teeth, brushed my hair, and throw on some clothes. As I walk out the door I grab my bags, kiss my sleeping husband and my kids, and out the door I go. I walk outside smelling the nice fresh air and tell myself “today is going to be a day to remember.” I jump in the car and off I go to the airport happier then ever. As I get to the airport I call my husband and tell him that I love him and the kids and that I'll call them when I get off the plane. After I hang up the phone I rush in to the airport ready to go. I'm a little bit earlier then I should be but I give the woman at the font deck my ticket and she said “welcome Mrs. Elizabeth Wainio. You will be on …show more content…
I call my husband and tell im what has happened, I'm ok, and that I love him and the kids. As I hang up the phone I hear two women screamng for their lives. I turn around to see what is happening. I see three men with red bandanas on with knifes in their hands, cutting peoples troats. I dont know what to do so I sit in my chair trying to stay calm, and think of a plan. I close my eyes and try to think its just a dream but its not this id really happening. When I open my eyes I look around and all the people around me and dead. I think to myself and say “this isnt what I meant when I said I wanted it to the a day to …show more content…
I grad my phone and call my husband. “the hijakeres have killed over half the people on the plane. They have knifes and possably a gun and a bomb. Everyone is going crazy . I am perfectly fine but I don’t know what to do” I said while the phone was breaking up. “You need to get them but don’t let them know it.” Fight, don’t let them win. Beep beep beep the phone goes out of connection and hangs up the phone. I throw my phone down and get with the other people that are still living and try to come up with an idea to hurt terrorist. We have decided we’re going to roll the food cart out through the hallway and hit the door. As we are running with the cart the plan starts rocking back and forth trying to throw us off balance but we aren’t letting them stop us. We run and hit the door and you can see the little dents in the door. We are making progress. We back up and try to run and hit the door again. As the plane is rocking and we are running. I hear four men screaming. It sounds like the
On September 11, 2001 terrorists crashed two American airline airplanes into Twin Towers, killing thousands of people. It was the worst terrorist attack in American history and it showed us that we are not protected by Atlantic and Pacific. It showed us that we could be attacked by anyone at anytime. It showed us that if we will be attacked again that we can only depend on each other and not on other nations to help us. The 9/11 changed people forever, some lost family members or friends, others lost their jobs even so called “American Dream.”
September 11, 2001 is known as the worst terrorist attack in United States history. On a clear Tuesday morning, there were four planes that were hijacked and flown into multiple buildings by a terrorist group named al Qaeda. This group, led by Osama bin Laden, killed nearly 3,000 people. Out of those 3,000 people more than 400 police and 343 firefighters were killed along with 10,000 people who were treated for severe injuries. Many lives were taken, and to this day, people still suffer from the attack. September 11th is the most influential event of the early twenty-first century because it made an increase in patriotism, it caused a rise in security throughout the nation, and it had a tremendous effect of thousands of lives.

There were numerous events and threats leading up to the terrorists attacks on the World Trade Center which left chaos amongst the streets of downtown New York City and would leave America and its families devastated and prone to change after this infamous date in our nation’s history. What happened on September 11th, 2001 was without a doubt both horrific and ill natured. Multiple terrorists hijacked several US airliners that would later be flown into the North and South towers, the Pentagon, and also an unintended area in Pennsylvania. It can be said that the United States of America was unprepared and vulnerable for these occurrences.
2,753 people died in the World Trade Center, 403 of which were NYFD, NYPD, and Port Authority personnel. This number could have been lower if the fire department and police department had worked together appropriately (Tracy, Thomas. “FDNY to Announce 32 More 9/11 Linked Deaths .” NY Daily News, NEW YORK DAILY NEWS, 7 Sept. 2017, www.nydailynews.com/new-york/fdny-announce-32-9-11-linked-deaths-anniversary-nears-article-1.3476104.) The police and fire departments were against each other since at least 1993, this led to them being unprepared during the event of 9/11 because of the lack of coordination. The 9/11 attacks were terrorist-caused, planes were hijacked and flown into the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and a random field in Pennsylvania.
9/11 was a tragic day for New Yorkers and citizens of the U.S. This topic is too emotional for some people to talk about, but we need to stop trying to forget what occurred that day and put our own efforts into solving what really went down. Let me start off by explaining the story that most people remembered 9/11 as. In the morning of September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorist that were in a group called al–Qaeda snuck through a billion dollar defense system with knives and box cutters, and were able to hijacked 4 planes. All planes were destined to go to California. At 8:45, one plane crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center. At 9:03, a second plane hit the south tower of the WTC, crashing into the 60th floor. About an hour and
Some of us might remember how beautiful it was this day, how blue and clear the sky was. September 11, 2001 is not just a regular day anymore it marks the day terrorists attacked, not only New York but also America. Much like Pearl Harbor this is the day we were taken off guard and the day we struck back and went to war. With everything stripped away from us and no sense of what was going on, a country that was just fine on September 10, 2011 was now broken, on such a beautiful day such terror occurred. According to The Best American Magazine Writing in the article “Experts from the Encyclopedia of 9/11” there is a quote that reads, “Many of us remember going to work that week, searching for an appropriate journalistic response to a world that was changing in ways we couldn’t yet see.”(page 107) When our country was expecting failure and loss of control, we pulled together as a nation and started picking up the pieces from this tragedy that tore us apart this day. After reading this article I asked myself, how could anyone do such a horrible thing? Why would anyone want to give the...
On September 11, the fire track with the sound of a siren violently jumps out the New York department and ran towards the origin of turmoil, the World Trade Centers, where two airplanes hijacked by Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda that without stopping the momentum, struck. Simultaneously with the moment of the explosion, as ripples spread rapidly, black smoke and various emotions of people covered the town. Surrounding people wailed, and stared with desperation to the collapsing of the symbol of the United States. The remains are called Ground Zero. That attack killed about 3,000 people, injured over 6,000 others, which included the firefighter and police officers who bravely, or were compelled to rescue the people, and they should able
What would be the first thing you did if you were on a plane and then suddenly you hear screaming and feel a jolt down. You wake up thirty minutes later and find yourself lying on a beach. You ask the first person you see what happened. He answered your plane crashed on an island as his hands shook violently. What would you do?
It was time for us to leave and board the plane to America. I was very excited to get to America, I was also anxious to see my Dad who I haven’t seen in months. The flight was long, I can remember in the air was my first time feeling turbulence, whoa let me tell you it was a scary one it felt like the plane was about to crash. I was anxious for the plane to land. When we arrived we exited out the plane and head out to the train inside the airport in order to go to U.S. customs and border protection, to get our documents sorted out, so that we could enter the country.
I drifted my eyes away from the hill for a short moment until I heard the sound of multiple gunshots in my left ear. My head whipped to face the direction of the sound. It came from the hill. I could not get myself to move but my friends were yellings and ducking. When I finally broke myself free of shock i chose flight, not fight.
Luckily, I got sleep. And deep and sound sleep always bring dreams, either good or bad. I saw that some brutish and distorted figures had pressed me hard on the ground. I was trying to wrench myself away from their firm and cruel clutch. But as much as I tried, more I failed.
Someone help me!” I scream at the top of my lungs. Immediately I am loaded up and taken to a field hospital nearby. The shrapnel completely misses my eye, but the pain is incomprehensible. With this, I receive orders that I am going home.
I am right in the line of sight on the back porch of our house; I hear the ladder starting to collapse, and see him hit the ground. At first I call out to him. He doesn't respond. I guess I should have called 911 then. I don't. I run over to him.
