As a lover of writing and literature, a developed sense of writing is a lifelong goal of mine. I enjoy improving my writing style and creating a better story to portray.The only proven way to achieve that goal of improvement is analyzing my past writings and searching for spots of improvement and areas of development. The evolution of my writing this year in the language development, sentence structure, depth of analysis,and progression of ideas used in my writings is evident in the comparison of my earlier writings to what I am writing right now.

The variations in my language and sentence structures in my previous works are subpar compared to those of my most recent creations. My previous work, while being above average, showed room for improvement in sentence development. For example, while the introduction of new topics in my essays complete their purpose, I feel that the addition of stronger transitions would improve the fluency of my essays. Simply using transitions such as “Then”, “Also”, and “As such” are boring to me and do not achieve my personal requirements of a perfect essay. Improving this simple skill would instrumentally improve the structure of my writings. Transitions are a basic skill of any good piece of writing, and mastering them in a fluent way would monumentally improve my writing. For example, on a recent research essay, I put forth effort to insert interesting transitions to smoothly change topics within my essay. Key words were used to match the end of one paragraph and the beginning of another, and in doing so, my essay felt more focused and precise than it did before I had edited it. My goal is no not need to revise transitions into my essays, but to have then written down originally; a habit I am currently working hard
