Ninth Grade Transition Analysis

From to beginning of Ninth grade to date I have grown in leaps and bounds in numerous areas of writing. At the beginning of Ninth grade I wrote similarly to a middle schooler, now, I have transitioned to writing as a high schooler. Some traits of a high school writer are sentence fluency, vocabulary, transitions, simple sentence starts, and a variety of words. Over the seven and a half months that I have been in high school, I have, most noticeably, improved my transitions, vocabulary, and writing speed.

In the Ninth grade transitions proved to be paramount to conveying meaning and sentence fluency. Furthermore, Transitions signify the glue that ties together your essay, transitions portray the relationships between your ideas. Imagine you're taking the SAT, you’re are given 25 minutes to complete an essay on a unknown topic. If a writer doesn't possess the writing speed to complete an essay in 25 minutes with time to spare for revisions, then they will indefinitely fail that section. Moving on, if it takes a writer over two hours to write an essay, then they will probably lose motivation at the halfway mark. This means that the writer will have to split this essay into two or more pieces. When an author pauses in their writing, it allows them to start fresh the next time but also makes parts of the essay sound distinctly different. However if a writer is extremely skilled or spends significant time to reach their previous mindset they can achieve a similar sound. Additionally, this also takes time to do making it a longer time for the writer to work, therefore decreasing the quality of the writers' work. Lastly the rigors and challenges presented to me in my ninth year served a catalyst for improvement in my transitions, vocabulary, and writing
