Reflecting on the Influence of Work Interest Surveys

Upon doing the Work Interest survey in class, my first impression was that it was a waste of time. However, after seeing the profile summary at the end of the survey, I realize that I could have done better. Maybe that if I was more focused and had more time, I would have gotten a better profile summary. Regardless, I think that the summary sums up my work interest pretty good. The top three characteristics of work interests are practically the same for me, the order of them are as follows; Social, Conventional, and Investigative. When looking at the definitions, I notice some of those characteristic are what make me as a whole. Also, the required years of education will vary based on the student. For instance, the Medical Administrative Assistant diploma program may be completed in 10 months and the medical administrative assistant associate degree program may be completed in 17 months. Furthermore, some medical assistants begin working after gaining their high school diploma, but chances are that it’s preferable when there are associate’s degree programs that train the person to become a medical administrative assistant. With a certificate, diploma or associate’s degree in medical assisting, one can begin a career as a medical office assistant. As for the setting of a medical assistant, the normally work in hospitals, doctor's’ offices, etc. Additionally, The national Healthcare Association (NHA) offers the certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA). However, before taking the certification exam, one must have a high school diploma and have completed a training program or have at least one year of medical administrative assistant experience.
