Writing is a subject that needs improvement. As a writer I am going to have my strengths and weaknesses no matter how much time I spend on improving my writing. With many resources available including the CRC, writing lab, and my Composition I teacher, I can improve upon my writing skills within a matter of weeks. Improvement will take a lot of work, it will not be easy but with the help I get from all the resources I have available I know I will become a better writer, or improved writer by the end of the semester. When writing my first paper of the semester, I was nervous as to how it would turn out and how much critique I would get from my Professor and peers. When reviewing my paper, I found a lot of repetitiveness when it came to comments on mistakes; therefore, I summed them up into four simple comments: work on comma splices, watch word choices, do not put unnecessary commas were they do not need to go, and stick to the tense I am writing in. With comma splices I noticed it was more predominant in my paper, for example “I had never been outside of Licking County except for maybe a total of five to six times, I had never experienced some of the sights I was exposed to”, and with the help of my Professor and peers, I am going to nail down and correct my comma splices. Staying in the correct tense while writing is a bit tough for myself as well, for example “The general concept of Capital Bike Share is you pay eight dollars to rent a bike for thirty minutes while you sight-see around the city before you have to check it back in at another Capital Bike Share location”. Using the right tense can be difficult and tricky in some situations, but with the help of many useful resources, including the CRC, the writing lab, and my Professor I can improve the skills with
