My name is Katradron Spann, I am a single parent of four children and I attend Gateway technical College. I am applying for this foundation's scholarship to complete my studies in Nursing. I want to complete an associate's degree in Nursing and then transfer to a four-year college or university. My educational goals consist of acquiring a bachelor's degree in Nursing. My personal experiences, academic, and work have lead me to these career goal's however, I feel that if I do not complete my college degree I could never have the opportunity to achieve my long term career goals. I've decided to obtain my career as a Nurse because my passion has always been helping, healing, and assisting others. After becoming a registered Nurse, I want to become a school nurse. Additionally, I want to help and support a healthy school environment, assist children with certain chronic health conditions to attend school and over all promote students with their health and learning. The second biggest career goal that I want to accomplish is to provide nutrition education to support children, their families and the community. This will help contribute to the physical development of kids and offer a solution to malnutrition in the neighborhoods. I receive government assistance to make ends meet until I can get a job. However, I am seeking the aid for the percentage of the tuition I can't cover on my own in the future. Receiving the foundation's scholarship will enable me to concentrate on my examinations amid the week without worrying about procuring additional assets. I will apply for a weekend job to cover any living expenses, I would have the capacity to keep the weekdays allowed to study. I know that all of my goals will remain just a dream if I do not
