STATEMENT OF PURPOSE I am at the determining stage wherein I have to decide what I would be doing to make better my walk of life. I have a great urge towards pragmatic industrial work environment and therefore I wish to pursue graduation study. I pen down this statement of purpose to describe my educational background and career objectives that motivated me to pursue under graduate in Mechanical Engineering. Right from the age of 6years i.e. from my second standard, I have keen interest in mathematics and science that enhanced quantitative and analytical skills in me. This strength enabled me to secure 85% in my 10th standard. I passed my senior secondary school with 96% in mathematics and 87% in physics respectively and I gained an overall percentage of 87.60% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry which were my main subjects. To study in engineering field, I had to overcome barrier, a common entrance examination, which I had to take along with almost two lakhs of students, all aspiring to get through. I passed with flying colors, being placed in the top 20% of all students who took the examination. An enormous number of challenges and rapid development in technology and science have made me to choose Mechanical Engineering. I took up Mechanical Engineering in CMR College of Engineering and Technology affiliated to prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, as my undergraduate major because it has giant potential to become a dominant force in this era. I have secured distinction in Mechanical stream from this university and I have maintained a clean and brilliant academic record throughout my years in this course. I want to go to college because I know without a college degree, I would be going nowhere in my life. I want to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering; I have been dreaming about working as a marine surveyor since I was eleven years old. There are many reasons why I want to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. One reason why I want to become a marine surveyor, marine surveying is my dream job; another reason is as a kid growing up I have always found it fascinating to create things and inspect things. As a kid growing up, because of my interest in inspecting and creating things pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering is be perfect for me. I would be the first person in my family to go to college. College is my opportunity to make something of myself and actually get by and be happy with the knowledge. Right from high school I had an inclination towards the engineering domain, especially in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Although being a girl, I opted for Mechanical since I believed in being creative and curiosity got the better of me as I was always interested in finding how things worked and was very much interested in fixing broken toys and machines. I was the Silver Medalist in RGPV university specific in Electronics and Instrumentation Branch and completed my under graduation Engineering with honors (80%).
