My Horse Have you ever rode a horse? Well I have this story of my was actually about six years ago, I decided to start riding horses that’s when I found out that riding horses was something that I like to do. I did so well in riding that my dad decided that it was then time for me to get my very own horse. But then my dad saw that my riding got way worse than it was when I was riding one of the stable horses named Mabaliene. But that was because of two things one I was not used to him and two he was a kind of I guess you could say a naughty horse. I eventually leaned how to ride the why he walked and we trained him to be good and to be. And I quickly improved my riding skills by allot I am now even better than I was before I got the horse that I now ride till this day on. My dad was proud of me. I was proud of myself. And I still love my horse and I always will

For centuries people have enjoyed horses in various ways. From racing Thoroughbreds to western pleasure, the equine sport can be observed around the world. But, behind the glitz and glamour of horse shows, there is also a dark side. Nowadays, some horse people will use harmful shortcuts to get a leg up in competition. “ Pushed beyond their limits, most horses are subjected to cocktails of legal and illegal drugs intended to mask injuries and artificially enhance performance.” (PETA). Many trainers will use extreme, abusive techniques in the name of competition.
We know it as the race that stops a nation. For a race that only lasts for a few minutes, months of painful training is undergone by the horse that is to partake. The horse must train until it is able to run 800 meters in between 46 and 50 seconds. I’ll assist you to imagine how much they must suffer to reach this goal. It is not uncommon for the horses to have torn ligaments and tendons, dislocated joints and even fractured bones due to their training. Why? Because at the age of two, these horses’ skeletal system is still immature and not ready for the hard training of the racing world. The horses must consume high-grain diets during their training; together with this diet and their endurance of excessive stress, gastric ulcers are caused.

While there will always be controversy over the topic, the best thing to do is just keep an eure on the horse and allow the adoption of them but mostly let nature take its course and decide on what should happen to all the horses.
Horse training greatly affects the lifespan of a horse, if not done properly. Many horses do not live to their fullest expectation. Some of the reasons for horses’ deaths include malnutrition, harsh training, and training at too early of an age. If horse trainers and owners want their horses to live longer, they must consider the effects of horse training of the horses’ lifespan.
The equestrian world is filled with various disciplines, from english to western, and different ideals to a trained horse. What creates major disputes between riders is the way of training that others riders practice on their horse. What might be perfectly fine for someone might seem like abuse for others. The truth is, there’s a fine line between training and abuse. Horses should be trained and be pushed less harshly since it can greatly damage their health, lead to bad horsemanship, and won’t develop the relationship between horse and rider.
Horses have always been a large chunk of my life. I was five years old the first time I rode a horse and I have been fascinated with them ever since. My dad bought my first horse around age five. Having horses growing up helped myself to deal with my troubled childhood. They were my therapy.
